| The
Area |
Winchcombe
is an Anglo-Saxon Cotswold Town with soft, honey coloured
stone-built properties, ancient narrow winding streets,
and houses the ever famous Sudeley Castle. It
is within easy travelling distance of the Regency Spa
Towns of Cheltenham and Bath, and is less than 30 minutes
from Stratford on Avon, the Theatre Centre of England.
Cheltenham is also the nearest rail station, with a
regular bus service to Winchcombe. Other delightful
Cotswold villages are nearby. Stow on the Wold
with its interesting Antique shops, Bourton on the Water,
Moreton in Marsh and Chipping Campden with very fine
restaurants. Walkers
will appreciate Winchcombe's location on the Cotswold
Way, together with many way marked and circular paths
starting and finishing in the town. |
