The hamlet of Gagingwell has approximately 10 dwellings and is situated 6 miles from the small Cotswold market town of Chipping Norton and 7 miles from the historic birth place of Winston Churchill, Blenheim Palace, Woodstock. This location is a perfect base for walking, rambling or site-seeing from the wonderful spires of Oxford to the historic Stratford-upon-Avon, along with a host of further venues of interest. For the more active there are a number of golf courses and riding stables close by along with other sporting activities. It is also perfect and ideally suited for just getting away and relaxing. The nearby villages of Enstone and Middle Barton provide all the amenities most require including post office, shops and the obligatory village pubs serving a variety of different fayre.

The apartment is bright and airy and contains all the necessities for your stay, living space with armchairs and colour TV, double bed with side tables and lamps, fitted kitchen comprising electric cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, washing machine and breakfast bar, shower room with electric shower, hand basin and toilet. The apartment patio doors lead to the gardens where garden furniture is provided along with the free use of a barbecue. Off road private parking is provided for 1 car. All utilities are included in the price as are bed linen, towels and heating which is provided from electric storage heaters. To make your stay more pleasurable we also include a welcome tray. Part of a Grade II listed building, the cottage has been modernised and refurbished, whilst retaining all the original beams, which add to its charm. Sleeping 3 people in 2 bedrooms, one double and one single, the cottage has a contemporary feel with an open plan sitting/ dining/ cooking area downstairs and the two bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. As there is a spiral staircase, we regret that the cottage may not be suitable for those persons who experience mobility problems or young children.

Short breaks of any duration are welcomed throughout the year; £50.00 per night between 1st October 2008 and March 31st 2009 (excluding Xmas and New Year which are charged at £55.00 per night with a 5 night minimum booking). Sudeley Castle was the home of Katherine Parr, Henry VIII’s last wife and nearby are Hailes Abbey; a 13th Century Cistercian house, founded by Richard, Earl of Cornwall and Belas Knap, one of the finest neolithic long barrows in Gloucestershire. Winchcombe is also ideally situated for Cheltenham with its Literature, Jazz, Science and National Hunt Festivals. The last of which of course culminates in the world famous Cheltenham Gold Cup.

This pretty cottage has recently been restored to a very high specification, and is located within the conservation area of Winchcombe. Whilst situated in the centre of the village it enjoys a tranquil location but it is only a short stroll from the nearest shops and pubs. These detached barn conversions are located in idyllic Cotswold countryside, close to the Windrush valley and in the area of the old Wychwood Forest, yet within easy striking distance of Burford, Oxford, Blenheim, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water. Nearby, on the banks of the Windrush, are the old ruins of Minster Lovell Hall and there are many other attractions and places of interest to be found locally.

The Barns are comfortable and very fully equipped. Both are centrally heated and facilities include satellite TV, with DVD players. There are plenty of books for those who decide to have a lazy day and large scale Ordnance Survey maps of the area are provided. Our guests also have the use of the three acre field next to the Barns, which contains some fifty varieties of wild flowers and plants.

Home Barn has a lovely cathedral roofed and beamed sitting room, with oak floors, and a feature fireplace with wood burner. The spacious farmhouse kitchen is fully equipped with electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and a massive dining table for up to 15 people; a separate utility room houses a washing machine and wc. There are five bedrooms and four bathrooms; three doubles (two en-suite) and two twin-bedded (one en-suite). The family bathroom has a bath plus a separate high-pressure shower unit. Home Barn is very spacious and well suited to acting as a central living area, where more than one family or a group of friends have booked both barns. The Old Byre sleeps three/five maximum, in 1 double and 1 single, with a double convertible sofa-bed in the lounge for aditional guests. There is a first floor bathroom with shower. The lounge is very comfortably furnished, with cloakroom immediately adjacent, separate dining area and large fully fitted kitchen with electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and washer / dryer.
