Our
two Shaker style cottages have been sympathetically
converted to a high standard from a Victorian stone
barn. They are set in a secluded, sheltered valley next
to our farmhouse. They retain many period features such
as vaulted, oak beamed ceilings, wooden floors, twin
four poster beds made from the old grain bins and an
original wooden screen wall where local farmers scribbled
their records of rabbit catches 100 years ago. When
combined with modern features such as fully equipped
kitchens, central heating and cosy wood burning stoves,
these give the cottages much charm and comfort. |

| The
Place |
| Voley
Farm nestles in a peaceful setting in idyllic
Exmoor countryside, at the bottom of an unmade
farm lane, about a mile from the main road. You
are welcome to roam our 50 acres of pasture and
woodland as well as use the games room. We are
20 minutes from the North Devon coast and the
villages of Lynton, Lynmouth and Combe Martin.
Footpaths lead directly from the cottages to Exmoor
and the sea at Heddons Mouth. |

There is a wide variety of local attractions for
all weathers, including riding stables, sandy beaches,
wildlife parks, steam trains, swimming pools and
many fine National Trust houses and gardens. Rosemoor,
the Dartington Crystal Factory and the Eden Project
are within easy reach. |

| The
Cottages |
| Both
cottages have central heating plus a cosy
wood burning stove. They are comfortably furnished
and still have the original beams and lots of character.
Each has an entrance into a spacious open plan living
room and fine views across the valley. The living
rooms have the original wooden floors with wool
rugs, and each is furnished with large, comfortable
sofas and armchairs, digital TV and radio, DVD/CD
player. Both cottages have a fully fitted kitchen
with a farmhouse table, pine cupboards, gas cooker,
microwave oven, fridge, dishwasher, toaster, cafetiere,
iron and ironing board. Everything, in fact, from
garlic press to corkscrew! |

| Moorit
Cottage. Leading off from the living area
and kitchen is an ensuite twin room with a pair
of single four poster beds made from the original
grain bins. The ensuite shower room has a power
shower, toilet and basin and shaver point. A carpeted
stairway leads down to two further bedrooms and
the bathroom. The large double bedroom features
the original crossed beamed ceiling and a pretty
canopied bed. The second twin bedded room also has
100 year old beams, and is next to the warm bathroom
with toilet, bath, wash basin and shaver point. |

| Katmoget
Cottage. There is an airy twin bedded
gallery room up in the eaves, overlooking the
living room area. Leading off from the living
room and kitchen is a separate shower room with
a power shower, toilet, basin and shaver point.
The carpeted stairway leads down to two more bedrooms
and the bathroom. There is a sunny, canopied double
bedroom with king size bed, beamed ceiling and
view across the courtyard. The second twin bedded
room also has canopied beds and a beamed ceiling.
Next to these is a large bathroom with bath, toilet,
wash basin and shaver point. |

We
provide a laundry room with an automatic washing
machine, coin operated tumble dryer, drying rack,
payphone, and freezer. Each cottage has a private
patio with picnic table and barbecue. We have
set aside a grassy field with garden furniture
for playing outdoor games, picnicking or a quiet
read. Both cottages have an information box, local
maps, books and magazines. A cot, high chair and
stairgate are available for each cottage if needed.
The beds are made up for your arrival. Towels
and cot linen/bedding are not provided. All other
bed linen is inclusive, as is all heating and
electricity, together with your first basket of
logs. Farm produce also available.
Parking
for up to 2 cars per cottage. Both cottages are
NON SMOKING.
Pets: we are sorry, but we cannot accept pets.
