Tucked away in a corner overlooking the meadows and the river on the outskirts of Colyton, this is a perfect spot for a secluded holiday very close to civilisation. No need to stray very far from "home" at Millstream Bungalow - enjoy the comfortable accommodation and relax in the sunshine on the terrace. It is good walking country and the station is within easy reach for an enjoyable tram journey to the coast at Seaton passing tremendous birdlife on the river Axe. Colyton has interesting shops and within and nearby there are several good places to eat serving home cooking. There are beaches at Seaton, Beer, Lyme Regis and Sidmouth, and the County towns of Exeter and Taunton are both around 25 miles. This is an ideal holiday base for couples and although not specifically designed for disabled may be suitable for those with restricted mobility as the bungalow and access are on one level.

It provides a good base for exploring Bideford, Barnstaple, Clovelly and Westward-Ho!, and is also close to Hartland Quay, The Tarka Trail etc. Lundy Island can be visited by boat from Bideford. An honest 5 minutes walk from the cottage, the path leads you past the old lime kilns to a pebbly, sandy beach with lovely rock pools and safe swimming. The North Devon Coast Path crosses the village, leading to Clovelly in one direction and through the woods to Peppercombe in the other. Although there isn't a pub in the village, there are several within a few minutes drive of the cottage.

In a stunning location off the beaten track at the southern most tip of Devon, with just the sound of the sea, curlews and the odd sheep, this cottage is one of few former coastguard cottages fronted by National Trust land and located within an SSSI and Coastal Preservation Area. This makes it one of the regions best migration watch points. The surrounding habitat provides a home to rare bird and marine life; including the rare cirl bunting as well as birds of prey, seals and dolphins. Step out from the gate at the bottom of the garden onto the South West Coastal Path which will lead you to nearby secluded sandy coves and swimming points. Approximately a mile away is the village of East Prawle, with two good pubs - one the famous Pig's Nose Inn serving home cooked food and regular live music. The sailing town of Salcombe is two miles by passenger ferry across the Salcombe estuary. Kingsbridge is approximately 9 miles away.

The village of Combe Martin has the longest village high street in the country, stretching from the small sandy beach with its rock pools, to a full two miles inland. The village was famous for its lead and silver mines as well as for strawberry growing. The village of Berrynarbor is two miles away, and can only be described as a traditional North Devon village, with its narrow streets and white washed walls, large church and traditional pub.

The cottage is situated in an outstandingly beautiful position close to, and directly overlooking, the rugged coastline between Prawle Point and Start Point. This is the most southerly tip of Devon. The land between the cottage and the sea is National Trust land and the main features are the wild coastline, the delightful and relatively deserted coves nearby, and the view - which at all times is outstanding. The South Devon Coastal Path which passes near the cottage provides walking amid superb scenery in either direction - toward Start Point and Dartmouth or towards Salcombe. Salcombe and Dartmouth are sailing centres - both attractive towns well worth visiting. There is a good sandy beach at nearby Maceley Cove.
