The Gatehouse is a single-storey, converted barn. It is private and secluded, while being close to the village. At Charmouth, the beach amenities include a café, a fossil shop, and the Heritage Centre where the geology of this famous Jurassic coast is illustrated and explained. Even without leaving the Gatehouse, gorgeous views of the West Dorset countryside or a glimpse of the World Heritage Coast can be enjoyed. Access to the cottage is via a 200 metre, all-weather farm track, with off-road parking.

The cottage has a spacious open-plan living room comprising a kitchen / dining area and lounge with double doors opening onto a private patio and garden. The lounge has a TV equipped with a Freeview Digibox, a video player and a CD player, while the kitchen units include electric oven, electric hob, extractor fan, fridge/freezer, microwave oven, kettle and toaster. The entrance hall has a washer/dryer, an electric immersion water heater, and the coin-operated electricity meter. There are two bedrooms - one with twin beds, and a double with ensuite shower room with heated towel rail, shaving point, sink, shower and WC. The main bathroom has a heated towel rail, a shaving point, a bath with shower over it, a sink and a WC. Bed linen, and towels are provided.
Smoking and pets are not permitted in the property.

The Gatehouse is just 3 miles from Lyme Regis (for arts, crafts, and its famous cob). We are 6 miles from Axminster (for British Rail, River Cottage and Tesco), and 8 miles from Bridport (for its Art Centre, Morrisons and Waitrose). Please email John for prices and availability.

Peacefully set in an unspoilt rural hamlet, just 6 miles north of Wareham and the Isle of Purbeck, this thatched cottage provides a delightful and comfortable holiday retreat. Bloxworth is an excellent base for exploring the historic market towns of Dorchester, Wimborne and Blandford Forum which are all within a 20 minute drive. The beaches at Studland, Swanage, Bournemouth and Sandbanks, as well as the World Heritage ‘Jurassic Coast’ are easily accessible. There are plenty of outdoor pursuits to enjoy locally including walking, cycling, horse-riding, golf, sailing and fishing. Excellent pubs and local shops within 2 miles.

The cottage has recently been refurbished and is tastefully decorated and well equipped. DOWNSTAIRS the accommodation comprises fully fitted kitchen with microwave, dishwasher, freezer,integrated electric hob/oven etc, comfortable living/dining room with ‘living flame’ stove and flatscreen TV/DVD, double bedroom, and family bathroom. Washing machine. UPSTAIRS, there is one double bedroom and one single bedroom. A back hall has a door leading to the enclosed garden, with garden furniture and BBQ. Garage and off road parking is provided for two vehicles. All bed linen (duvets), central heating and power is included in tariff. The property is pleasantly situated on the Devon/Dorset border surrounded by open farmland and is within 5 minutes drive of the World Heritage Jurassic Coast where the quiet coastal village of Charmouth and the small historic town of Lyme Regis are located.The market town of Axminster lies approximately 4 miles to the west, with its main line railway connection to Waterloo. The property has far reaching rural views and is accessed by its own private drive.

Hell Barn cottages are situated in a quiet hollow by Winniford stream in North Chideock near Bridport. The garden looks out over rolling farmland and provides an attractive and peaceful setting in which to relax at any time of the day. Less than two miles from the beach and the Jurassic Coast, and only a mile off the main road, this is an ideal spot from which to explore the local area, whatever your age or interests. There are many miles of delightful footpaths to explore, including the fine coastal path with its breathtaking views. Within a few minutes drive is the old rope-making town of Bridport with its harbour of West Bay offering boating and sea fishing.

The four comfortable spacious cottages have been converted from two 18th century stone barns, and are clean, well maintained and well-equipped. Each cottage has a spacious lounge / dining room with a colour TV and kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, refrigerator and washer/dryer. The bathrooms are fitted with bath and shower, wash basin, with shaving socket and WC. Each cottage has two comfortably furnished bedrooms - 1 double and 1 twin, except for Jasmine Cottage which additionally has a set of twin bunks in the twin room (the other three cottages all have sofabeds though to accommodate 2 extra persons if required). The large garden includes two patio areas and children's play equipment, and there is also a Games-room. Finally, if you want to take out some of the 'catering' from your self-catering holiday, we can also provide you with home cooked frozen food and fresh Japanese dishes cooked especially for you at your table!!

The cottage itself has one double bedroom, one twin-bedded room and one single bedroom and across the garden the "Boathouse" annex provides a further bedroom with 3 single beds.
