Recently restored and re-furbished, Heywood Cottage is part of the buildings which originally formed the Tithe Barn of Boldre. It is situated within 10 acres of grounds and woodlands with river frontage and lake and is adjacent to the sixteenth century Heywood Manor, reputably built by Henry VIII for Anne of Cleaves. The well-equipped, centrally heated single storey cottage has one family room with double and single beds and a single bedroom.

The sitting room is of generous proportion with television / video and log burning stove for cosy winter evenings. There is also a single sofa-bed in the sitting room, in addition to the other sleeping accommodation. The kitchen/diner is well appointed with Bosch oven, hob and microwave. Fridge, freezer, dishwasher, food processor and all other necessary utensils are provided.

Hell Barn cottages are situated in a quiet hollow by Winniford stream in North Chideock near Bridport. The garden looks out over rolling farmland and provides an attractive and peaceful setting in which to relax at any time of the day. Less than two miles from the beach and the Jurassic Coast, and only a mile off the main road, this is an ideal spot from which to explore the local area, whatever your age or interests. There are many miles of delightful footpaths to explore, including the fine coastal path with its breathtaking views. Within a few minutes drive is the old rope-making town of Bridport with its harbour of West Bay offering boating and sea fishing.

The four comfortable spacious cottages have been converted from two 18th century stone barns, and are clean, well maintained and well-equipped. Each cottage has a spacious lounge / dining room with a colour TV and kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, refrigerator and washer/dryer. The bathrooms are fitted with bath and shower, wash basin, with shaving socket and WC. Each cottage has two comfortably furnished bedrooms - 1 double and 1 twin, except for Jasmine Cottage which additionally has a set of twin bunks in the twin room (the other three cottages all have sofabeds though to accommodate 2 extra persons if required). The large garden includes two patio areas and children's play equipment, and there is also a Games-room. Finally, if you want to take out some of the 'catering' from your self-catering holiday, we can also provide you with home cooked frozen food and fresh Japanese dishes cooked especially for you at your table!!

Here is a perfect base for walking and fossil hunting along the world famous 'Jurassic Coast'. We offer a lovely Old House in wonderful countryside with the huge asset of never having to use your car. It is available for both weeks and weekends, and is an ideal venue for family gatherings / special birthdays / holidays / large group long weekends and corporate bonding & study days.

The centrally heated house sleeps 37 in 18 bedrooms, 12 of which are en-suite, with 4 further private bathrooms and one house bathroom. Downstairs there is a large well equipped kitchen, laundry, and prep. room, including 2 refrigerators, a chest freezer, commercial dishwasher, range cooker, microwave and griddle. The dining area has a massive square table which seats 24 plus smaller add on tables for flexibility. Adjoining the dining room there is a large open area suitable for games and dancing with sofas and an open fire. The main living room is furnished with comfy sofas and chairs, a small library, a wood burning stove and a television, while the second (21 ft) sitting room is equipped with TV and a wood burning stove. The games room has Pool, Table Tennis and Darts. Four sets of double doors lead out on to the south-west facing terrace, and there is a large parking area in front of the house and enclosed lawns with a picnic and BBQ area. For that special meal we can recommend our excellent outside Caterers and a list of local (some organic) suppliers. Smaller groups can also be accommodated, by closing off some of the bedrooms in the back wing of the house. Weekly prices shown are for 29 people in 13 bedrooms, a small supplement is payable for parties up to 37 (18 bedrooms); long weekend and mid-week tariff also available.
