Le Chalet Fischer is situated approximately 60km from Geneva, in Verchaix, a charming Savoyard village nestling on a very sunny slope close to Samoens. The location is ideal for summer activities such as mountain biking, hiking and hill walking, with numerous green paths starting from the village, and leading up to the wild tracks of the high mountain pastures.
     
The Chalet The chalet itself is in a magnificent setting, facing due south and offering spectacular panoramic views.  It is a modern construction, tastefully furnished and decorated, superbly equipped (including woodburner and dishwasher), spacious light and airy. In detail, the accommodation comprises:-
 
 
First Level
  • Lounge with woodburning stove, colour Satellite TV, and video and DVD player, radio/casette/CD player, telephone (incoming calls), sofas which convert to beds
  • Kitchen fully equipped (breakfast bar, granite work surfaces, ceramic hob, microwave & eye-level ovens, large refrigerator and separate freezer, dishwasher)
  • Dining area
  • Bedroom with 2 singles
  • Separate WC and washbasin
  • Shower room with washbasin (and washing machine)
  • Very large balcony and separate terrace
 
Second Level
  • Bedroom with 1 bunk bed and 1 single (balcony/rising sun)
  • Bedroom with 1 double and 1 single (large balcony/due south)
  • Mezzanine sleeping area with standard double (large balcony/due south)
  • Shower room with washbasin and wc
  • Bathroom with bath/hand held shower, wc, bidet, 2 washbasins

Towels are provided and, if required, bathrobes. Beds are made prior to arrival of guests. Cot and highchair are available. There are also DVDs, videos, books, magazines, CDs, board games, as well as a hairdryer, iron and ironing board. High speed and WiFi internet/email connection, fax and photocopying facilities upon request.
The Area

The authentic Savoyard village of Verchaix is truly charming, comprising typical hamlets of chalets and farms with ornate carved balconies in a delightful natural setting. Adjacent to the village there is a swimming lake, tennis courts and mini-golf. Other activities in the valley include rafting, canoeing, mountain biking, swimming and horse riding.

   
 

Alternatively, if you want to do a bit of touring, Verchaix is also the perfect starting point for excursions to Chamonix, Annecy and Yvoire or, in Switzerland, to Geneva or Montreux.
