Charming renovated gite with swimming pool, on the edge of a hilltop village in the tranquil countryside of the Charente Maritime, sleeps 2.
Located on a charming renovated farm on the edge of a hilltop village in the tranquil countryside of the Charente Maritime, the gite L'Ouche Aux Fleurs is self contained and adjacent to the swimming pool and shaded patio area with sun-beds and a BBQ - ideal for al fresco dining. Outdoor games and table tennis are provided.
The gite comprises a spacious open plan salon, kitchen and diner together with a shower room and toilet on the ground floor. The salon is equipped with a comfortable double sofa bed while the mezzanine bedroom has twin beds and enjoys glorious views over the rolling Charentaise countryside to the village of Paradis. Whilst the gite is normally rented for 2 people, it can be rented by 3 or 4 people, for a supplementary charge. Bed linen is provided.
The village of Les Eduts is close to the Foret d'Aulnay amidst vineyards and fields of sunflowers, with plenty of opportunities for cycling, country walks or simply relaxing in the sunshine with a good book and a glass of wine. The adjacent village of Nere has a bistro, serving good quality cuisine, a small supermarket, a butchers and an excellent boulangerie/patisserie. 10 minutes away is the ancient Roman Garrison town of Aulnay de Saintonge, with markets, shops and restaurants and its famous Romanesque church, once an important stop for pilgrims en-route to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. 20 minutes to the South lies St. Jean d'Angely with boulevard cafes and restaurants, indoor market and boutiques. Less than an hour away is the Atlantic coast with La Rochelle, Royan, the Ile de Re and Ile d'Oleron . There is wonderful sea food in abundance throughout the area. Cognac, the home of excellent brandy, lies 30 minutes drive to the South and in contrast, Futuroscope is one hour to the North near the historic city of Poitiers.

LE TILLEUL, Paizay le Tort, Melle, Poitou Charentes 
Two detached 18th century gites set in peaceful village in charming river valley, with swimming pool and games room, sleep 5/4.
Le Tilleul is set within the peaceful village of Paizay le Tort, a charming river valley encompassed by three chateaux surrounded by sunflowers in the Poitou Charentes region, 5km from the Romanesque market town of Melle. The River Berlande meanders through the village, and pleasant walks, rambles or bicycle rides can be found from this most typical French village, which has a Roman church, friendly bar/restaurant, tennis courts and obstacle course only a short stroll away. Known for its micro-climate, the region is the second sunniest region in France, with Poitiers airport 45 minutes and La Rochelle a little further.
La Boheme (sleeps 5) with charming vine covered patio, arranged on ground floor, with exposed beams, tiled and parquet floors throughout. The large equipped detached gite includes cooker, fridge, microwave etc, with a separate utility housing washing machine, tumble dryer and second w.c. The living area is provided with colour sat t.v, video, c.d. player, wood burner. Two bedrooms, a double with French doors leading to the patio, while the second can accommodate three single, large shower room with washbasin, w.c. shaver point.
Les Hirondelles (sleeps 4) a detached 18th century barn conversion. Large equipped fitted oak kitchen, dining room and lounge with woodburner. Beautiful ash staircase. Exposed oak beams, stone and parquet throughout, colour sat t.v, d.v.d and c.d player. Two large bedrooms both with either shower or bathroom ensuite. Private garden of walnut and fig trees. Nearby orchard with plums, apples, nectarines.

Set amongst Oaks, Box Elders and Pine trees in the heart of the Poitou
Charente countryside in the Medieval Town of Bressuire lies a retreat,
a base from which to explore the region, take in the scenery and enjoy
the numerous attractions all within one hours drive, including Puy du Fou only 30 minutes from us.
We have three chalets and only twenty touring pitches, each chalet has
two bedrooms; one with a double bed and one with a bunk bed.
There is also a double sofa bed in the living room giving a total
occupancy of six. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge
freezer, oven, hob, sink and all the necessary crockery and cutlery. The essential corkscrew is of course supplied. The bathroom consists of a shower,vanity unit and shaving mirror. The WC is separate. Satellite TV has been recently installed giving French and English Channels.
Outside you have a covered area & decked area with table and chairs
over looking a green valley and an ideal location to watch the sunset.
Also now available is a luxury 4 berth caravan for rental. Minimum

Situated in the Charente-Limousine, which is famous for its gently rolling countryside, and within easy reach of Poitiers, Limoges and Angouleme, this area is perfect for those who have dreamed of finding a holiday which offers the freedom to live the French way of life in one of the most beautiful and sunniest regions of France.
In a quiet hamlet surrounded by unspoilt countryside, most people agree that the farm houses are amongst the best of the rental properties available, and that they have one of the most stunning locations in the Charente. They are set in one acre of land with large 10 x 5.5 m swimming pool. Each house has been restored to reflect the period in which they were built, but with the added luxury of today's home comforts. Traditional character has been retained with thick stone walls, mammoth exposed beams, impressive fireplaces and a selection of traditional French furniture. The kitchens however are equipped with modern comforts, such as Smeg dishwashers, microwave ovens, gas cookers and fridges; a washing machine is also provided in a communal laundry area.

LA VIEILLE FERMETTE, Germanas, Charente, France
Traditional beamed 18th century farmhouse with heated swimming pool, hot tub and tennis court, situated on the edge of quiet rural hamlet, sleeps 8.
Cosy enough for couples but spacious enough for up to 6 adults and 2 children, La Vieille Fermette is a traditional beamed 18th century farmhouse with exposed stone walls, original features, wood burning Godin stove & central heating, on the edge of the quiet rural hamlet of Germanas. Within an hour of Angouleme and Limoges on the Dordogne border, the house is now a four bedroomed, two bathroom home, set in its own fenced & screened grassed garden, adjacent to the English owners' home the Manoir des Sources. The area is uniquely tranquil & a high level of privacy is assured.
The spacious & comfortably furnished living room retains the original fireplace and stone sink, and is equipped with English free to air Satellite TV & radio, DVD player and French doors opening towards the pool area. The living room leads to the well equipped kitchen & dining area, with farmhouse style dining table, chairs and pews to comfortably accommodate up to 8 diners. The kitchen is equipped with electric hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge freezer and microwave. Off the kitchen are a downstairs WC and utility with washing machine. Original wooden stairs lead from the dining area to the totally rebuilt first floor, with four light and airy bedrooms - 2 doubles, 1 twin and 1 with bunk beds. The two modern bathrooms each have full size baths, one with overhead shower, one with handheld shower attachment, WCs & pedestal washbasins. Outside, the south & west facing garden boasts its own swimming pool (8m x 4m x 1.2-1.8m deep, which can be heated for an additional €85 payable on arrival) with separate sun terrace away from but in sight of pool with plenty of cushioned sunloungers, 2 parasols, the new roofed terrace with hot tub, & a full sized hard tennis court which guests are free to use any time.

Located on the sunny Charente Dordogne border, Chateau de Gurat is an ideal child-friendly holiday destination for those wanting to experience rural France at its best. The chateau is situated on the edge of the tranquil little village of Gurat (population 187 with 10th Century Gallo-Roman church, post office, 2 bars and petrol station). The village of Gurat lies between Villebois-Lavalette (with magnificent hilltop fortified Chateau) and Aubeterre-sur-Dronne - officially one of "les plus beaux villages de France", the most beautiful villages of France. Situated in the beautiful countryside of the Charente Dordogne region, we offer a year round base for discovering Southwest France, and can provide assistance with house hunting.
The five luxury gites are set in the grounds of the picturesque chateau, which dates back to the 15th Century and stands in 14 acres of meadows and woodland. Each has been carefully renovated to provide comfortable family accommodation whilst maintaining a sense of rural France, with original oak beams & stonework. The gites vary in size from two to four bedrooms, each equipped with a modern kitchen with its own washing machine, and each having its own sun terrace and barbecue. When you arrive, you will find your beds made-up with luxurious Egyptian cotton bedding and a welcome hamper to greet you.
As most of our summer bookings are family groups we firmly believe that "happy kids = happy parents". We pride ourselves that we have created a safe environment where kids can mingle, explore and play. All the grounds are a big play area for the children with wooden climbing frame, swings and a huge sand pit. Table tennis, boules, giant Connect4 & Jenga, archery and a 5-a-side football pitch are just some of the fun to be had. There are mountain bikes for hire.
The 12 by 6 metre swimming pool enjoys panoramic views over the surrounding countryside, and there is also a separate 4 by 3 metre children's pool.
