Located on a charming renovated farm on the edge of a hilltop village in the tranquil countryside of the Charente Maritime, the gite L’Ouche Aux Fleurs is self contained and adjacent to the swimming pool and shaded patio area with sun-beds and a BBQ - ideal for al fresco dining. Outdoor games and table tennis are provided.

The gite comprises a spacious open plan salon, kitchen and diner together with a shower room and toilet on the ground floor. The salon is equipped with a comfortable double sofa bed while the mezzanine bedroom has twin beds and enjoys glorious views over the rolling Charentaise countryside to the village of Paradis. Whilst the gite is normally rented for 2 people, it can be rented by 3 or 4 people, for a supplementary charge. Bed linen is provided.

The village of Les Eduts is close to the Foret d’Aulnay amidst vineyards and fields of sunflowers, with plenty of opportunities for cycling, country walks or simply relaxing in the sunshine with a good book and a glass of wine. The adjacent village of Nere has a bistro, serving good quality cuisine, a small supermarket, a butchers and an excellent boulangerie/patisserie. 10 minutes away is the ancient Roman Garrison town of Aulnay de Saintonge, with markets, shops and restaurants and its famous Romanesque church, once an important stop for pilgrims en-route to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. 20 minutes to the South lies St. Jean d’Angely with boulevard cafes and restaurants, indoor market and boutiques. Less than an hour away is the Atlantic coast with La Rochelle, Royan, the Ile de Re and Ile d’Oleron . There is wonderful sea food in abundance throughout the area. Cognac, the home of excellent brandy, lies 30 minutes drive to the South and in contrast, Futuroscope is one hour to the North near the historic city of Poitiers.

Le Tilleul is set within the peaceful village of Paizay le Tort, a charming river valley encompassed by three chateaux surrounded by sunflowers in the Poitou Charentes region, 5km from the Romanesque market town of Melle. The River Berlande meanders through the village, and pleasant walks, rambles or bicycle rides can be found from this most typical French village, which has a Roman church, tennis courts and obstacle course only a short stroll away. Known for its micro-climate, the region is the second sunniest region in France, with Poitiers airport 45 minutes and La Rochelle a little further.

La Boheme (sleeps 5) with charming vine covered patio, arranged on ground floor, with exposed beams, tiled and parquet floors throughout. The large equipped detached gite includes cooker, fridge, microwave etc, with a separate utility housing washing machine, tumble dryer and second w.c. The living area is provided with colour sat t.v, d.v.d, c.d. player and wood burner. Two bedrooms, a double with French doors leading to the patio, while the second can accommodate three single beds, large shower room with washbasin, w.c. shaver point.

Les Hirondelles (sleeps 4) a detached very spacious 18th century barn conversion. Large equipped fitted oak kitchen, dining room and lounge with woodburner. Beautiful ash staircase. Exposed oak beams, stone and parquet throughout, colour sat t.v, d.v.d and c.d player. Two large bedrooms both with either shower or bathroom ensuite. Private garden of walnut and fig trees. Nearby orchard with plums, apples, nectarines.
