The Cottage

Swifts Cottage is approximately 150 years old, and has been tastefully refurbished to include modern facilities, whilst retaining character features such as exposed beams etc.

It has a large through lounge with wood burning stove, TV, video and hi-fi - with plenty of light, and a sofa bed which pulls out to sleep two. The dining room and well equipped kitchen are open plan, and include dishwasher, microwave, washer / drier etc. All rooms downstairs have views of open fields or the rear garden.

Upstairs, there are three bedrooms; 2 large doubles with attractive high ceilings and 1 cosy twin room. There is a large family bathroom complete with WC but there is also a separate WC.

At the front of the rear lies a secluded courtyard garden - accessible through patio doors - ideal for a barbecue or entertaining in summer when the local swift population can be seen diving at the cottage. Further behind, beyond a gravelled track, is a long extended lawn shadowed half way by large established beech trees.

Please note that we don't accept pets, and no smoking is allowed indoors.

The Area

Syderstone can be found in North Norfolk off the main road between Hunstanton and Fakenham and is about ten miles inland from the North Norfolk coast. The village is well over a thousand years old and is even registered in the Domesday Book of 1066, but the village gets its name from the earlier Anglo Saxon period.
