Three cottages in fine old converted farmhouse and two converted barns, in beautiful situation, sleep 2-7.

£161 - £607

Manesty stands at the foot of Cat Bells and Maiden Moor where the open fell meets the stone walls of the fields. It is built in the traditional Lakeland style, on a site chosen centuries ago for its sunny elevated position and its sweeping views across Borrowdale. Lying at the heart of the Lake District, it is the ideal base for a Cumbrian holiday whether walking or touring by car.

The fine old farmhouse is beautifully situated, and incorporates what are now three of the cottages: Manesty Band, Manesty and Manesty Dairy. It is flanked by two converted barns, Cocklety How and High Seat. Each cottage is self-contained with its own entrance, grounds and is fully equipped as a comfortable, convenient home for a Lakeland holiday.

Manesty Dairy is the compact Edwardian extension to the farmhouse, with one double bedroom to sleep 2. Cocklety How Stable Loft is part of Cocklety How, the converted 17th century barn, and has two double bedrooms to sleep up to 4. High Seat is the southern farm building converted into a bungalow with two bedrooms (1 dbl, 1 triple) to sleep 5. £435 - £695

Situated in the heart of Eskdale, one of the most tranquil valleys of the Lake District, Hollin Head is a traditional Lakeland cottage that dates back as far as records began in 1586. The accommodation has a fully equipped kitchen (with oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier, hifi system etc), dining room with a large table seating eight and a piano for singalongs, sitting room with widescreen TV, video and DVD player, and four bedrooms (one double, one twin, one triple and one single). The river has natural pools for swimming and is a popular place for canoeing and for fishing. The famous Ravenglass & Eskdale Miniature Railway runs along the valley, its steam trains leisurely making the seven mile journey down to the sea.

The village shop and post office, Eskdale Stores, sells a comprehensive range of goods, including groceries, fresh fruit and vegetables, food to go, alcohol and newspapers.

Elegant Grade II listed Georgian detached house with walled garden in famous ancient village, sleeps 8 + cot.

£550 - £900

Looking like the sort of late Georgian house that Jane Austen might have lived in, this elegant Georgian detached house is set in a quiet lane on the edge of the ancient village of Cartmel, famous for its priory church, racecourse, village square and several notable pubs and restaurants. It is a Grade II Listed building and all its rooms catch the sun and overlook either the Priory church or the local fell - excellent walking and eating right on the doorstep! It was built on the site of the medieval tithe barn and is surrounded by a walled garden with a pond and stream.

Over the last fifteen years we have restored it to its former glory and revealed many of the original features. We have furnished it carefully to keep its charm and character, using period furniture and Laura Ashley fabrics. On the ground floor is a sitting room with colour TV, video, hi-fi and log fire, a dining room, a well equipped kitchen (including dishwasher, washing machine, drier, microwave etc), a breakfast room, and a scullery. The first floor has two double bedrooms (one with washbasin), a twin bedroom and a bathroom. Above is a large attic with two further single beds. Beneath the house are extensive cellars, an extra cloakroom, and a games room. Outside, the secluded sunny garden has garden furniture and a barbecue. The house sleeps eight comfortably, although we do offer discounts for couples.
