The Old Farmhouse & Mews Cottages is a family run selection of self catering properties within a pretty mews setting, situated in the centre of Braithwaite's beautiful village, which has repeatedly won the “Best Kept Village” award, and is just 2 miles from Keswick. The main farmhouse dates from 1700, sleeps 6/8 people in 3 bedrooms, and is the picture perfect 'Lakeland farmhouse'. Next door, the Annex sleeps 2/4 people and again has plenty of character. There are six cottages surrounding the courtyard, each one is different yet all have an individual character. The properties vary in size sleeping from 2 - 6 people. The two apartments, at the rear of the Mews, are modern and fully equipped and sleep 2/4 people.

Luxurious holiday home in centre of picturesque and unspoiled Lakeland village, sleeps 8/10.

£600 - £2050

English Tourism Council 4 Stars

In the very heart of the Lake District, yet a restful step away from the crowds of Windermere and Ambleside, the unspoilt Lakeland village of Elterwater is one of the most picturesque in the Lake District, and gateway to the famous Langdale valley. Indeed, as you come over the rise into Elterwater from Skelwith Bridge, you’re confronted with a typical Lakeland view: sheep grazing on the common in front of white-washed cottages with slate roofs, and the craggy peaks of the Langdale Pikes rising behind.

A stone and slate Victorian house in the centre of Elterwater, standing in its own mature gardens, Meadow Bank is beautifully furnished to create a luxurious holiday home. Set back from the narrow road which runs through the village, behind an old stone wall, the front of the house offers fine fell views to the north-west, while the rear views are across open fields to the beck. On the ground floor is a large kitchen with breakfast bar, oven, hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine / tumble dryer and microwave, a huge living / dining room with pine dining suite and sideboard, comfortable sofas, and chairs, TV & DVD and micro hi-fi system, and a separate sitting room with two folding beds and TV. On the upper floor are four bedrooms - one double with portable TV and en-suite shower room, second double, two twins - and two bathrooms.

Two comfortable cottages in sought-after village with wonderful views, sleep 8 & 12.

£420 - £1090

No more than a few dozen houses, Applethwaite is the most sought-after village around Keswick, and it's not hard to see why. The village is a sleepy little hamlet, more reminiscent of Madeira than England, with hens, ducks, goats and sheep wandering over the lane. Our two warm cottages are comfortably furnished, including open fires, and have well equipped kitchens which include dishwasher, washing machine, drier and microwave.

Derwent Lea (sleeps 8) is surrounded by a lovely garden, in which children and pets can play in safety, and has lounge and dining rooms with wonderful views, kitchen, bathroom, downstairs wc and three big bedrooms - two doubles and a very big bedroom with two single beds and a set of full sized bunks.

Orchard Barn (sleeps 10/12) is great for family get-togethers or for parties of walkers and friends! The heart of the accommodation is the superb lounge and separate kitchen and dining area, with patio windows looking out due South over the magnificent view. There are 6 bedrooms (2 dbl, 3 twin, 1 with children's bunks), a shower room and a very pleasant bathroom.

Luxury 'spa' vacation retreat with 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, sauna, wooden barrel hot tub and Scandinavian style indoor grill. Sleeps 10/12.

£1500 - £3300

Located in the unspoilt Eden Valley, Cumbria, Kaber Chapel, built in 1892, is situated between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales in an area of outstanding natural beauty. This luxury conversion provides a fabulous spa vacation retreat, and an alternative venue to bring family and friends for an active or relaxing holiday, celebration, short break or reunion. It is also the perfect environment for secluded business meetings, and has broadband Internet access provided.

The heart of the property is the Great Room, which enjoys the full height of the chapel to the chapel roof. It includes the fully equipped open plan kitchen with an AGA range cooker - located where the altar was and still retaining the altar rails as part of its design. Here you will also find a large dining room table which seats 14 with two long pews from the chapel and four dining chairs; sofas around a log burning stove provide a relaxed seating area. On the ground floor are 3 bedrooms (1 with en-suite and King size bed) two twins, a shower room, and main bathroom with infrared 6-person sauna. Two further bedrooms on this floor are with king size beds and en-suite shower rooms.

The outbuildings have been rebuilt to adjoin the chapel and create a very special area with a Scandinavian feel. The hot tub is a traditional cedar wood barrel design heated by electricity to seat 4 or 6 people. The lavvo is a Scandinavian indoor grill based on the Laps lavvo tents where they cooked and slept. The pine seats are covered with reindeer skins - it's great fun and very social.
