Overlooking the quiet, unspoilt Howgill Mountains, Fawcett Mill is hidden in its own tranquil valley, with a stream running from an adjacent waterfall through 7 acres of meadowland. Built in 1794 as the mill owners house, it is furnished in comfortable country style, with oak beams and open hearths throughout. It is equipped to a very high standard with full gas central heating and fitted carpets. Outside, as well as barbecue areas, there are extensive terraces and patios bordering the stream. Fawcett Mill is an idyllic gathering place for a large family or group of friends. It is perfect for reunions, get togethers, Christmas/New Year/Easter celebrations, Weekend Breaks or a relaxing break away from it all. Summer or winter the environment and scenery is stunning. 

The property has 3 double bedrooms, 3 twin bedrooms, 1 family bedroom (with twin beds and additional double bunkbed), 2 bathrooms, 2 shower rooms and 4 w.c.s. A double futon and double settee bed in the upper lounge (+cots) enable up to 20 people to be accommodated. There are 2 lounges, one on the ground floor with TV, video, radio and log fire, and the other on the first floor with TV, video and radio. The spacious dining / living room with Victorian range has dining table seating 16 people, and the two fully equipped kitchens include dishwasher, washing machine, drier, microwave, hob, oven, fridge, freezer and a gas-fired Rayburn cooker. Also on the ground floor are a 3-person sauna and sunbed.

Tarn Outdoor Centre is a unique and superb barn conversion in a traditional Cumbrian hill farm setting. Magnificently situated with spectacular views over the surrounding Howgill Fells. The Centre is an idyllic base for walkers and a peaceful, secluded retreat for those wanting to get away from it all. It is a great venue for parties, celebrations or a family get together.

The centre offers self catering accommodation for groups of up to 24 people in four double/twin bedrooms and two 8 person dormitories. There is a fully equipped kitchen, dining area for the whole group, great lounge, drying room and 8 washrooms (comprising shower, wc, basin in each).

The centre brings a group right into the natural outdoors whilst also having all the comforts of a high specification, recently converted, character facility. Set in acres of grounds there is a large games field and games equipment (football, rounders, cricket, badminton rackets etc..). Panoramic views over surrounding country side. Lots of space, lawned area, small tarn, meadowland where guests are free to have a stroll, enjoy the views, have a barbecue or just relax around an evening campfire. Seeing the lambs in spring, a glimpse of the visiting red squirrels, the greater spotted woodpeckers, the wild rabbits or the fell ponies on the surrounding fells all add to making Tarn Outdoor Centre a special venue for a weekend or group get together or joint family holiday.
