	Set in one of the best rural locations in Derbyshire, approached along a quiet country lane, and surrounded by fields and woodland, Middle Farm is hidden deep in the countryside, yet it is only a short distance from the main A6 road between Bakewell and Buxton. Maigold is a superb barn conversion, fitted out to a very high standard and offering spacious accommodation.

The Place

Middle Farm, Brushfield lies on a sunny south-facing hillside high above Taddington Dale - a deep-cut limestone dale along which winds the A6 road. This is one of the best rural locations in Derbyshire. Approached along a quiet country lane and surrounded by fields and woodland, Middle Farm is hidden deep in the countryside, yet it is only a short distance from the main A6 road between Bakewell and Buxton.


The two cottages are adjacent to the owner's farmhouse and are within easy reach of many local attractions. Bakewell is 7 miles, Buxton 7 miles, Chatsworth 6 miles, Matlock 12 miles, Hope Valley 12 miles and the village of Taddington 1 mile from the farm.

The area around Brushfield has been farmed since Neolithic times and the farm lies close to some of the finest scenery and walking country in the Peak District. Monsal Dale is literally just around the corner and Miller's Dale is only a short walk away. It is ideal for those wishing to explore the rich diversity of life and landscape within the Peak District. There are many beautiful walks from the doorstep and Brushfield is an ideal base for those wishing to enjoy an activity holiday with nearby facilities/locations for rock climbing, caving, horse riding, gliding, fishing and mountain biking.

The Cottage

Maigold is a superb barn conversion on one level, fitted out to a very high standard and offering spacious accommodation in the midst of the beautiful Peak District. Many interesting features including exposed beams and roof trusses have been retained.

Facilities in the cottage include a spacious lounge with tasteful furniture and decor, with beamed ceiling, a traditional log-burning stove, colour TV and video. The large farmhouse-style dining kitchen has fully fitted units and is well equipped with hob, oven, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. A slate floor, pine and oak beams and recessed light fittings lend a special atmosphere to the room.

		There is an attractive double bedroom with exposed roof trusses and an external door to the patio area. The twin bedded room has a beamed ceiling. The capacity and layout of the bedrooms can be changed to suit the needs of the party. Linen is provided.

The accommodation is completed with an entrance area/front porch and a bathroom and WC. There is also a separate shower room and WC. Ample secure parking is available. Pets and smoking are not permitted. As the cottage is on one level it may be suitable for people with disabilities. Launderette facilities are available if required. An initial supply of fuel is provided for the stove and central heating and power are included. The sunny sheltered south-facing patio has wonderful views and is equipped with furniture and a barbecue. There are also garden and courtyard areas next to the cottage. Access is available to the owner's woodland and fields by arrangement. Our second cottage on the farm, Albertine Cottage, sleeps 8 people, and is therefore suitable for larger groups, or can be rented together with Maigold Cottage to provide accommodation for 12 people.
