Hiccombe House Cottage occupies the whole first floor of an old stone-built cottage, facing south down a sheltered and secluded oak-wooded valley on the south eastern edge of the Exmoor National Park in Somerset. It is about a mile from the village of Brompton Regis, which has a village shop, post office, lovely old church and a fine pub called the George Inn, serving good food and local real ales. The accommodation features a double bedroom with wash basin, a lounge with electric fire, colour TV and southerly views, bathroom with bath and toilet, kitchen/diner (also with super views down the valley). The kitchen has a fridge (with freezer compartment), microwave, electric cooker, toaster etc. The water is supplied from the owners own natural spring. The cottage has a small south facing garden with furniture. The views and the peace are quite special. |

English Tourism Council 4 Star Mill Cottage accommodation nestles above the Snowdrop Valley close to Dunkery Beacon in the centre of Exmoor National Park, with beautiful waymarked walks leading from the cottage along the River Aville and up onto the moor. The village of Wheddon Cross is only one and a half miles away where you will find excellent village amenities including shops, garage and pub. We are an ideal base for walking, riding or a ride in the car. The large main room contains the kitchen with electric cooker, microwave and a fridge with good freezer space. A lobby houses a washer / dryer and a separate WC and washbasin. English Tourism Council 4 Star Winscombe Court has been recently refurbished retaining many original features but combining them with modern facilities to make a 'contemporary style' house. The house is predominately Gothic Victorian, and it is full of interesting characteristics. Mulberry and Medlar are stylishly decorated and furnished, extremely well-equipped (including dishwashers, washer / driers etc), with their own entrances and full central heating. Both have welcoming open fires, for which logs are provided. Outside, there is a good-sized garden, with an area for seating under the very old mulberry tree. Beyond there is a secret garden, wonderful for kids, of colourful shrubs and a tree house, climbing frame and swing. Mulberry is the larger, with four bedrooms to sleep up to eight people plus a cot if required. The accommodation comprises large comfortable living room, large open plan kitchen / dining room, utility room, downstairs wc and family bathroom. The master bedroom has a handmade king-size bed, ensuite shower, wc and basin; the second bedroom also has handmade king-size bed, while the remaining two bedrooms have 2 single beds. Medlar is the smaller, with one large double bedroom to sleep two, or four if your party has one or two small children, as a Futon can be placed in the bedroom, since it is such a large room. The large sitting room has original cornice, contemporary chandelier, open fire and a dining table with seating for 4 and views of the garden and grounds. The kitchen is fitted with custom-built units and fully equipped including all the crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils you require. Finally, the bathroom has a limestone floor and double shower, twin basins mounted on a bath stone pedestal and low-level WC. |

Cross Tree House is a beautiful 17th century Grade II listed thatched farmhouse, constructed of Hamstone, situated in the small village of Lopen, 3 miles north of Crewkerne. It takes its name from the cross outside where Cardinal Wolsey was put in the stocks for getting drunk at the village fair. There is a wealth of things to do in this beautiful area, which is steeped in history; the coast is also only about 30 minutes away. The house has many original features, including flagstone floors, beamed ceilings, inglenook fireplace etc. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with robust antique furniture and Turkish rugs. In total, there are 7 double / family bedrooms to sleep between 14 to 20 people. Outside, there is a walled garden with roundabout, swing, see-saw, barbecue, picnic tables and director style garden chairs, as well as a small paddock, which can be used for horse keep if required.
