Close to Dolgellau, Bala, Shell Island, Llanbedr and Porthmadog.
The traditional picturesque village of Dyffryn Ardudwy overlooks Cardigan Bay, with spectacular coastal and mountain views, and includes 2 well stocked grocery shops, an Award winning Butchers, 2 Pubs (both serving food and with children’s play areas), a Sandy Beach and Children’s playground.
Many original features have been retained such as the exposed beams and the large lounge window, which was once the opening of the Hayloft - hence the name Daflod meaning loft in Welsh.
The lounge is traditionally furnished with ample comfortable seating, LCD TV, DVD player, music system and electric fire, while the superbly equipped kitchen includes gas cooker, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and microwave. There are two charmingly furnished bedrooms - a double with
en-suite bathroom and a twin with en-suite shower room; a cot or extra guest bed can be placed in this bedroom if required. We are family friendly and can provide a cot, highchair, bed guard and bathroom step.
Just a few steps from Daflod is the Games Barn and Laundry Room, also converted from a traditional farm building. The children’s play area and barbecue/picnic area, with picnic tables and charcoal barbecue, are adjacent to the Games Barn, with its ‘pub style’ pool table, table football, table tennis and film library.
The laundry room has 2 washing machines, tumble dryer, ironing board & iron and drying room.

As well as having very high insulation, to AECB silver standard, solar powered hot water and full gas fired central heating, each of the two buildings, Chapel House and Quarry Cottage, has a wood burning stove.
Smugglers Cove is situated in the Snowdonia National Park, just off the foreshore/beach of the Dyfi [Dovey] estuary, on the A493 approximately 3 miles up the estuary from Aberdyfi and 5 miles from Machynlleth. The property has the same owners as the Smugglers Cove Boatyard, which is also being renovated as a working boatyard with licensed moorings on the estuary, exclusive access to the estuary foreshore beach, its own slipway and hardstanding, and launch facilities for canoes, yachts and boats. The house was originally built in the 13th century, but renovated to its present design in 1746. The interior has been more recently improved whilst retaining its original character, with panelled walls, antiques, fine family portraits and a number of interesting items collected during travels around the world over the last 200 years. It also however has all the modern-day comforts such as washing machine/dryer, microwave, dishwasher, large fridge and freezer, as well as 2 colour TVs, video, DVD, Sky Digital TV and stereo.
