Escalade III is a lovely private refurbished chalet-style apartment in Courchevel 1650. Effectively the penthouse it offers exclusive accommodation on the second floor for a family perhaps with a grandparent or two or a nanny and room for the children or two families and up to 4 children. Also ideal for one group of 4-6 friends or colleagues (we can accommodate more but we don't like to crowd you).

Escalade III occupies one of the best positions in resort for access not only to the slopes but also to all the resort's other services and facilities yet manages a sense of distance. Far-reaching views from 3/4 bedrooms. Chalet Host/Manager lives out and provides all your booked catering and guest services. Breakfast and afternoon tea provided on 7 days with a tasty 3 or 4 course evening meal with wine, cheese and coffee on 2-6 evenings.

Features:

Chalet Host/Manager (live-out) provide catering and guest services including daily housekeeping bar the staff’s day off. Welcome Champagne reception. Breakfast (including choice of cooked items incl. porridge, eggs plus yoghurts, fruit juice, tea/coffee/chocolate, French bread and * fresh pastries, cereals) and afternoon tea (including hot & cold beverages, freshly baked cake, French bread, fruit and various sweet fillers) provided on 7 days with a tasty 3-4 course evening meal with wine, cheese and coffee pre-bookable on between 2 and 6 nights in advance.

Bedrooms/Beds

– king or queen size doubles with quality mattresses and luxury bed linen in all rooms:
1 = double and en-suite.
2 = double or twin beds plus for an older child a tiny mezzanine sleep-only area may be available, shared facilities.
3 = small twin (end to end beds) shared facilities.
4 = small twin (single bed + pullout single) own shower.

En-suite to bedroom 1 with WC.
2 shower rooms.
Separate WC.

Kitchen:

Cooker, hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine.

Cleaning/towels/bed-linen/maid service:

Luxury Bed linen ready and made up on arrival day. Luxury Bath and hand towels provided. Towel change if required. Chalet cleaning 6 days.

Notes on accommodation/services:

Cot and booster chair on request. Snow Club for younger children and ski school for older children 1-2 minutes walk. Choice of French or International Ski Schools. Children's two-course tea pre-bookable (for discounted children). Adults three or four course meals pre-bookable – children via prior arrangement and special rate. Good restaurant in Hotel le Seizena (owned by the 5* Luxe Kilimanjaro in Courchevel) – early/ pre-booking highly recommended. Restaurants/hotels and bistro bars for eating out and après-ski nearby ranging from good to luxurious.


Single rooms: Two single rooms are possible for a group of six guests. One single room is possible for a group of seven guests.

Restricted-height Mezzanine: There is a tiny eaved-mezzanine above the 2nd bedroom with a vertical ladder access and safety bar which may be available. Because of the access this is unsuitable for young children but parents may decide it is useful for an older child as a sleep-only area. Equipped with reading light, height restricted to sitting/crouching, bedding is basic mattress only but it works in practice for larger families.

Accessibility:

Luggage drop-off facility outside property. One short staircase to first floor, accommodation is on second floor accessed via short private staircase within property. Secure, discrete, public underground parking close by.

Outside:

Slim balcony on front of property. High quality French Food Store with Boucherie/Charcuterie, Fine Wines and Champagnes, Fromage, Vegetables, French Bakery, Baby products and Toiletries is situated on the ground level of this Chalet building. A fully stocked chemist can be found nearby along with Doctors and Physiotherapists.

  Skiing / Snow Boarding in Courchevel, The Three Valleys  
     
 

The Courchevel area is one of ‘the’ sought after resorts in the Three Valleys ski and snowboard area of France. Its 63 ski-lifts, and 117 downhill skiing runs with an accumulated length of 150km, guarantee you quality snow cover (thanks to its 562 snow cannons) and can offer fantastic skiing throughout the season. The wider area includes 200 lifts & 330 pistes totalling more than 600km. For red run skiiers Courchevel 1650 is just four lifts away from the Meribel Valley and from there on to Les Menuires and Val Thorens for lunch before returning to Courchevel for well-earned afternoon refreshments. Meribel is also accessible to blue run skiiers via an alternative route.

Whether you're a beginner or an advanced skier, a back-country enthusiast, a family skier, or a board rider or even if you prefer wintry walks, snow-shoeing, gourmet dining, designer shopping or a snug ride in a horse-drawn carriage, Courchevel can offer the experience you're looking for.

Geneva 80 miles/2 hours. Lyon Saint Exupéry 115 miles/2 1/2 hours. Chambéry 60 miles/1 hour. Grenoble 80 miles/2 hours. Easyjet and Flybe flights available to Geneva/Chambéry, from Birmingham, Exeter, Norwich and Southampton. Ryanair and BA from London and regionals. Eurostar to Moutiers. Transfers to resort pre-bookable. Self-drive est. 9 hours from Calais (longer in high season at peak times or in bad weather) worth driving down on the Friday and staying overnight in Moutiers if you can to avoid high season/weekend queues in the local area - map available. Heli or Plane-transfers directly in to Courchevel 1850 are possible - please contact us if you would like further details.

Additional Information for Self-drivers:

For self-drivers, Tignes and Val D'Isere are possible for a longish day trip (about 1 - 1 1/2hrs one way in good weather) along with the famous resort of Chamonix/Argentiere and the famous Mont Blanc. La Plagne with its new cable car linking to Les Arcs is nearer, about 1hr. Geneva is within a couple of hours as is Lyon with it's fabulous architecture, fine dining and retail experiences. In summer Annecy is within a couple of hours with its beautiful lake.

Whole chalet booking: Bookings are for whole chalet (min. 3-4 guests including 2 single rooms if required) only during high/mid season weeks. In low season weeks there may be some flexibility, please enquire for further details.

Deposit & Insurance: Your reservation will be made on receipt of 25% deposit for the total accommodation booking plus a signed booking form detailing all guests and pre-bookable meals. We ask you to have appropriate travel, medical and holiday insurance cover. Payment must be made in full 8 weeks prior to arrival. Credit card payments will incur a 2.5% charge. Full terms and conditions will be provided to all guests.

Arrival/departure: Saturday arrival from 3pm to Saturday departure by 10am but there may be flexibility in terms of the arrival/departure day, please enquire for further details.
