Manesty stands at the foot of Cat Bells and Maiden Moor where the open fell meets the stone walls of the fields. It is built in the traditional Lakeland style, on a site chosen centuries ago for its sunny elevated position and its sweeping views across Borrowdale. Lying at the heart of the Lake District, it is the ideal base for a Cumbrian holiday whether walking or touring by car.

The fine old farmhouse is beautifully situated, and incorporates what are now three of the cottages: Manesty Band, Manesty and Manesty Dairy. It is flanked by two converted barns, Cocklety How and High Seat. Each cottage is self-contained with its own entrance, grounds and is fully equipped as a comfortable, convenient home for a Lakeland holiday. There is also an outdoor, all natural, woodfired hot tub, which can be booked by the day.

Manesty Dairy is the compact Edwardian extension to the farmhouse, with one double bedroom to sleep 2. Cocklety How Stable Loft is part of Cocklety How, the converted 17th century barn, and has two double bedrooms to sleep up to 4. High Seat is the southern farm building converted into a bungalow with two bedrooms to sleep 5. Manesty is the heart of the original farmhouse with three bedrooms to sleep 6. Finally, Manesty Band is a barn incorporated into the farmhouse in the 19th Century, with four bedrooms to sleep 7 people. In addition to the cottage accommodation we have Cocklety How Studio Apartment, sleeps 2, for short breaks all year round and the Youdale Knot Holiday Caravan, sleeps 4 in two rooms, for the ‘close to nature’ experience. Both have stunning views across Borrowdale.
