Cosy enough for couples but spacious enough for up to 6 adults and 2 children, La Vieille Fermette is a traditional beamed 18th century farmhouse with exposed stone walls, original features, wood burning Godin stove & central heating, on the edge of the quiet rural hamlet of Germanas. Within an hour of Angouleme and Limoges on the Dordogne border, the house is now a four bedroomed, two bathroom home, set in its own fenced & screened grassed garden, adjacent to the English owners’ home the Manoir des Sources. The area is uniquely tranquil & a high level of privacy is assured.

The spacious & comfortably furnished living room retains the original fireplace and stone sink, and is equipped with English free to air Satellite TV & radio, DVD player and French doors opening towards the pool area. The living room leads to the well equipped kitchen & dining area, with farmhouse style dining table, chairs and pews to comfortably accommodate up to 8 diners. The kitchen is equipped with electric hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge freezer and microwave. Off the kitchen are a downstairs WC and utility with washing machine. Original wooden stairs lead from the dining area to the totally rebuilt first floor, with four light and airy bedrooms - 2 doubles, 1 twin and 1 with bunk beds. The two modern bathrooms each have full size baths, one with overhead shower, one with handheld shower attachment, WCs & pedestal washbasins. Outside, the south & west facing garden boasts its own swimming pool (8m x 4m x 1.2-1.8m deep, which can be heated for an additional €70 payable on arrival) with separate sun terrace away from but in sight of pool with plenty of cushioned sunloungers, 2 parasols, the new roofed terrace with hot tub, & a full sized hard tennis court which guests are free to use any time.
