Originally a merchants house, Upper Cottage commands extensive views across Brixham from both the 2 double bedrooms and the spacious lounge which opens onto a sunny balcony, again with stunning views of the town. In years gone by the harbour was opposite the house and the tall merchant ships would unload their cargo into the warehouse area of the house which now houses a shop. Upper Cottage is situated 2 mins from the harbour and shops with numerous restaurants, bars and pubs close by.
The 17th Century accommodation has been lovingly restored in olde world style with original fireplaces, exposed beams, stone open fireplace and stripped doors and floors. The large lounge is carpeted throughout and furnished to a high standard, with 28" television with video, DVD, hi-fi, CD player and French doors opening onto the sunny balcony. The large beamed kitchen with dining area is newly equipped with electric oven, gas hob, washing machine and fridge freezer. Also on the ground floor is a shower room with toilet and wash handbasin. On the first floor the cottage has three bedrooms - Bedroom 1 with stripped floorboards with rugs and cast iron double bed, Bedroom 2 with a high ceiling exposing the original pegged beams, stripped floorboards with rugs, original fireplace and cast iron double bed, and Bedroom 3 with twin beds. The second bathroom also on this floor has bath with power shower, toilet and vanity unit. Outside is an enclosed garden area - with built in barbecue, wooden reclining chairs, dining table and chairs - and in sunshine all day. One dog is welcome by arrangement, but sorry, we do not accept smokers. | | | CLICK PHOTOS FOR MORE COTTAGE DETAILS | |
