Chalet Sol Re, once a traditional farmhouse has been painstakingly renovated into a beautiful unique chalet with lots of character. The chalet is in an idyllic location, situated in a tiny picturesque hamlet called Essert La Pierre, 4km from the centre of Morzine. The hamlet sits up high on the north side of the valley which means we enjoy the sun all day long as well as fantastic views down the valley.
All year round we offer self-catered stays in either the apartment sleeping up to 6 or one of our 4 studios that all sleep 4-5. For those who are travelling around France or just fancy a short break in the Alps you can stay for 3 or 4 nights, on a bed and breakfast basis. Both the studios and apartment provide bright, spacious accommodation, and each has French doors leading to south-facing balconies with table, chairs and wonderful views. Guests are also welcome to relax and soak up the sun in our lovely garden that has a BBQ, swings, boules area, table tennis table and trout pond.
Morzine is just what you imagine a picturesque Alpine town to be. The buildings are true to the chalet style and built with local stone and timber. With stunning mountains on either side and the river Dranse running through it you can understand why we and so many others live here all year round. Morzine is an excellent base for mountain biking and family activity holidays. The snow recedes to all but the highest peaks and the pistes turn into lush green meadows or in the case of Pleney an 18 hole golf course with stunning views. The lakes melt and the aqua marine water is inviting for a dip, but be warned, it is still quite chilly! There is a good selection of sports and gifts shops, creperies, patisseries and restaurants as well as the local weekly market.
