Recently used for the filming of ‘Miss Potter', a film about Beatrix Potter starring Renee Zellweger, Low Millgillhead offers three self catering Georgian houses within two acres of gardens in the small village of Lamplugh. The two larger properties are the main house, Millgillhead, offering stylish accommodation for up to ten people, and Croft House, which is a barn conversion to high standards, with accommodation for twelve.
Lamplugh is the perfect starting place to explore the fells, rivers, lakes and tarns of this beautiful part of the Lake District. There are a variety of walks right from the front door, or Loweswater Lake is just four miles away, with Buttermere and Crummock just a mile or two beyond. The village pub (the Lamplugh Tip) is a mile and a half away. For shops, Cockermouth (just 7 miles away) has a Sainsbury's as well as a wide variety of smaller independent shops, pubs and cafes. The Kirkstile Inn at Loweswater (a few miles away) is renowned throughout the Lakes for the quality of its food and ales.
Both properties are furnished to a very high standard and are well equipped, including large range cooker, dishwasher, microwave, fridge / freezer, washing machine and tumble drier. The spacious living rooms have widescreen TV, DVD and video players, together with comfortable sofas and chairs, plus an open fire in Millgillhead. Both have dining for large groups & families. There are five bedrooms at Low Millgillhead and six at Croft House. Each has two bathrooms plus an additional toilet with basins in some of the bedrooms.
