To approach this warm comfortable cottage overlooking the courtyard, you enter past the pear tree and under the old cantilevered flag stones of the original granary steps. With a double and 2 single bedrooms, Farndale suits parties where visitors prefer not to share a twin bedroom.

Downstairs: Entrance porch and lobby, cloakroom/WC, sitting/dining room with open stone fireplace. Pine-fitted kitchen.

Upstairs: Double bedroom. Two single bedrooms, one with wash basin and Z-bed (for +1). Carpeted bathroom/WC with over-bath shower.

Pickering is a charming Yorkshire spot, with ample country inns, restaurants and specialist shopping, as well as its own stop on the North York Moors Steam Railway. Hungate Cottages comprises 11 highly individual cottages, in a peaceful setting, just a short walk from Pickering town centre. The cottages are all unique, self-contained and each has been converted to the same luxurious standard, with between 2 - 5 bedrooms. The beautifully restored period buildings stand around two courtyards in colourful, mature well maintained gardens where visitors can sit out. Pickering itself is right on the doorstep of the Yorkshire Moors and is a short drive from the Roman City of York and the beautiful port towns of Whitby and Scarborough.

All cottages feature wireless broadband access, cooking by electricity, washing machine/tumble dryer, dishwasher, fridge & freezer or fridge/freezer, high chair and gas fired central heating. Sitting rooms include colour TV, DVD player, radio, books and games, and free logs for all cottages with open fires. In the bedrooms, duvets & linen are included, King size double bed (except Farndale), towels, stairgates, a cot, and hairdryer. Pets are welcome all year round in some cottages.

Residents also have free use of the Pickering Swimming pool centre, which is approximately 3 minutes walk away and free access to the Dalby Forest. For guests staying a week or more there is free admission to Eden Camp and Ryedale Folk Museum. Other facilities on the complex include a fenced off children’s play ground with basket swing, adventure fort and Wendy House, and a secure cycle shed.
