Situated in the Eden Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty, Temple Sowerby is an ideal base for touring both the Pennines and the Lake District. Hillside Cottage commands scenic views across the Pennines from the back and it overlooks the picture postcard village green to the front.

The cottage has a large back garden with fields beyond and a smaller enclosed front garden overlooking the village green with children’s play area. There is a small patio area at the back with table and 6 chairs. As well as the pub and hotel in this sleepy village, there is a good range of pub and restaurant food to be enjoyed in many nearby villages.

Walking in the fells, cycling, fly fishing at Blencarn, lake cruises, canoeing and sailing on lake Ullswater are just a few activities on offer in the area. There are golf courses at Penrith, Appleby, Keswick and Brampton. To the back of the cottage a public footpath takes you to the lovely National Trust property Acorn Bank Gardens.

Hillside Cottage, originally 2 attached cottages built circa 1750, is now one modernised cottage with many charming original features. The well-equipped cottage sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms, it has a large dining kitchen plus 2 good-sized reception rooms both with log fires.
