3 COASTGUARD COTTAGES, Prawle Point, Sotuh Devon
One of a remarkable row of cottages standing on one of the most spectacular stretches of Coastal Path in the UK, with breathtaking views to the sea. Sleeps 5.
Welcome to 3 Coastguard Cottages, an exceptional and dramatic place to visit all year round.
This remarkable row of cottages was built by the Admiralty in 1905 to man the Prawle Point coastal watch. Now surrounded by National Trust land, the cottages stand on one of the most spectacular stretches of Coastal Path in the UK. The headland also lies on a key migration path for many unusual and rare species of birds and butterflies. The house sleeps 5 and has breathtaking views to the sea. Within walking distance, there are secluded sandy coves, fishing points, rock-pools and two excellent village pubs.
Downstairs, the cottage has a kitchen, dining room, bathroom with shower and bath, extra loo, and living room. The living room has French windows that open to the garden and the beautiful sea views. Both the dining room and living room have wood burning fires. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms and one single - the Master bedroom has views out to the sea, while the other two bedrooms look out over the field at the back. The garden is tiered in three enclosed sections, with steps between, and includes a patio and barbecue area. It is planted throughout with mature shrubs, and leads down to a gate and to the sheep field and coastal path beyond.
