English Tourism Council 4 Stars These four high quality cottages are set in a wonderful location in the centre of the White Peak, surrounded by lovely dales and hills in all directions, yet less than half a mile from the pub in Biggin and one mile from the facilities in the highly popular and much visited village of Hartington. Despite a consistent grading of the cottages by the English Tourist Board of 4 Stars, the owners have constantly striven to upgrade and improve their standards and facilities.
The Dairy (sleeps 2) is shown on the right on the photograph of the cottages, and was newly built using reclaimed stone in 1996 using part of the walls of an old barn, and also further up-graded in 2003. Although this cottage is for two person occupancy, it is in fact of at least similar size to the cottages mentioned below, and has often been described by our guests as being a 'second honeymoon cottage'. It has well equipped kitchen, large open plan lounge (twenty feet by twenty feet) with log burner and Sky TV, luxury bathroom and galleried bedroom.
The Milking Parlour (sleeps 3) is a new barn conversion, all on the ground floor, with central heating, extremely comfortable living area with sympathetic log effect stove, 'wet room' shower room, kitchen with stone sinks and worktops, hardwood units, and much much more! There is one double bedroom and a good sized single bedroom.
Dale View and Liffs Cottage (each sleeps 4) were converted from a single stone barn in 1995 and further up-graded in 2003. They are of similar size on two floors. Each has an open plan lounge and kitchen area, two bedrooms, one double, one twin. The cottages themselves front on to a grassed area and beyond are fields and hills. | | | CLICK PHOTOS FOR MORE COTTAGE DETAILS | |
