5, COASTGUARD COTTAGES, Prawle Point, South Devon
Fabulous converted cottage with stunning views, sleeps 8.
The cottage is situated in an outstandingly beautiful position close to, and directly overlooking, the rugged coastline between Prawle Point and Start Point. This is the most southerly tip of Devon. The land between the cottage and the sea is National Trust land and the main features are the wild coastline, the delightful and relatively deserted coves nearby, and the view - which at all times is outstanding. The South Devon Coastal Path which passes near the cottage provides walking amid superb scenery in either direction - toward Start Point and Dartmouth or towards Salcombe. Salcombe and Dartmouth are sailing centres - both attractive towns well worth visiting. There is a good sandy beach at nearby Maceley Cove.
The attractive, terraced former Coastguard cottage enjoys stunning sea-views, and features dining room and sitting room (with open fire) on the ground floor, with a door opening out to the terrace and garden. Also on the ground floor is the well equipped kitchen and downstairs toilet. On the first floor there is a double bedroom with sea-views and en-suite bathroom, and two further bedrooms sleeping two each. The lovely top attic room sleeps two (with en-suite shower room) and has large velux windows front and rear providing good light and sea views. Children and pets welcome, but sorry, no smokers.
