Outside
the grounds are mostly laid to lawn surrounded by native
woodland. Some of the oaks near the house are more than
300 years old and provide a wonderful habitat for the abundant
bird life round the cottage.
There
is a large garden table with sun umbrella and chairs and
a Weber barbecue is also available. The gravel drive through
trees to the east of the house provides parking for several
cars.
The
stream on the west boundary of the garden is one of the
property’s most enchanting features, but please make
sure that young children are carefully supervised. There
are wonderful walks on the doorstep either along the banks
of the River Nar or through the woods on clearly signposted
paths.

|
| The
Area |
The
market town of Swaffham is a short drive away and there
is good fishing at Pentney Lakes and Narborough Trout Farm.
There are easy and frequent train connections to Downham
Market and King’s Lynn. The breathtaking beaches at
Holkham, Brancaster and Thornham on the North Norfolk coast
are an easy half hour drive from the house as are Sandringham
and Burnham Market.
Due to its remote woodland location close to the River Nar,
the wildlife is abundant with deer, badgers, dragonflies,
butterflies, pheasant, woodpeckers, swans, kingfishers and
owls all to be found in and around the garden.
Bradmoor is a bird-watcher’s paradise. The garden
is filled with birds all year round and the nearby lakes
at Narford and Narborough are a magnet for all types of
wildfowl. In addition there are sensational walks through
the woods on the cottage doorstep and you would be unlucky
to come back from one without seeing either deer, (Roe,
Fallow and Muntjac), rabbits and hares, pheasant, partridge,
or even a fox slinking through the woods. |
