More
than anyone, Rick Stein has put Padstow on the map, with The
Seafood Restaurant pulling in visitors from far and wide.
Many also come to Padstow to take one of Stein's cookery courses
at Rick Stein's Cookery School, and in fact many
of our cottage guests have been visiting Padstow for just that reason!!
While
it is necessary to plan well ahead if you intend eating at Stein's
Seafood Restaurant, he does also have 3 other restaurants in Padstow,
which are easier on the wallet - and great places for a delicious
lunch!!
Full
details of all of Rick Steins restaurants and the cookery school
can be found on his website at www.rickstein.com
Links
directly to the individual restaurant pages are shown below, together
with Rick Stein's own description of what each restaurant offers:-
The
Seafood Restaurant www.rickstein.com/restaurants_theseafoodrestaurant.htm
Since
opening in 1975, The Seafood Restaurant has established a national
reputation for imaginative cooking of the very freshest fish and
shellfish.
The
restaurant is situated just across the quay from where the lobster
boats and trawlers tie up and much of the fish comes literally,
straight off the boats and in the kitchen door.
St
Petroc's Bistro www.rickstein.com/restaurants_stpetrocsbistro.htm
The
bistro is an unpretentious place to eat; the atmosphere is always
bustling and lively. Bold, modern paintings brighten the white walls
of the bistro, which is colourfully lit.
A courtyard
and pretty garden have added some al fresco eating albeit with parasols
and space heaters to compensate for our variable weather.
Rick
Stein's Cafe www.rickstein.com/restaurants_ricksteinscafe.htm
"The
sort of café you find on every street in London or Sydney.
But, I also wanted somewhere where you could drop in for tea and
cakes or a morning cappuccino and it all had to be great value for
money."
Tucked
away in one of the old back streets of Padstow, the relaxed informal
style of the café is designed for everyday eating. Open all
day, the café is an ideal location for a cup of coffee, light
lunch or three-course dinner.
Stein's
Fish and Chips www.rickstein.com/restaurants_steinsfishandchips.htm
"I've
always wanted a fish and chip shop in Padstow... somewhere you can
wander in, choose your fish and wait while it cooks."
Stein's
Padstow Seafood School http://www.rickstein.com/padstowseafoodschool.htm
The
Padstow Seafood School offers a wide range of courses of 1 day,
2 day, 4 day and 6 day duration, covering different aspects of seafood
cookery. |
