Set in the rural tranquillity of undiscovered North Pembrokeshire, Hên Stabl is 3 miles from the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, at the northern end of the Preseli Hills and only 8 miles from the coast. The rugged cliffs and sandy beaches of the west coast of Pembrokeshire, along with those of Cardigan Bay, are within easy reach and provide opportunities for spotting dolphins and seals, while there are walks, pony trekking, golf, fishing and canoeing to be enjoyed in the area.

The Cottage

Situated on a working beef farm, the cottage has been converted in a most attractive way from a stable / coach-house with hayloft, to provide comfortable and spacious self catering cottage accommodation, whilst retaining the character of the original building. The cottage has full oil-fired central heating and this is included in the price, along with the electricity and gas.

The fitted kitchen with original slate floor was once used for salting and smoking meat, and provides an electric cooker with fan-assisted oven and 4 hotplates, fridge with icebox, microwave, toaster and electric kettle, plus cooking utensils, steam iron and ironing-board. There is also a dining area with stable door opening into the garden. An automatic washing machine and tumble drier are provided in a nearby outbuilding.

The spacious sitting room has French windows, a gas-fired log effect stove set in a stone fireplace, colour TV with Freeview, Teletext, DVD player, video recorder, stereo radio / cassette / CD player and comfortable suite with recliner armchair.

The double bedroom, with exposed beams, opens onto a balcony with far-reaching views over open countryside to Cardigan Bay and, occasionally, Snowdonia. The bathroom is ensuite, with wc, basin and bath with shower over.

Outside, the cottage has a large, private woodland garden with furniture and barbecue. Unfortunately, the garden is not dogproof but there is a large area of commonland a short drive away with magnificent 360 degree views.

Hên Stabl sleeps 2 adults and one baby up to 18 months at the time of the holiday, and we will provide a travel cot, highchair and stairgate, but not bedding for the cot. Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome, for which there is an additional charge.

The Area

The nearest village is Boncath, 2 miles away, with a good village shop and pub, while a larger range of shops and garage are just 3 miles at Crymych. The nearest town, Cardigan, is 7 miles away.

The Preseli Hills on our doorstep are great for walking, with stunning views, and there are plenty of other things to do in the area, including pony trekking, golf, fishing and canoeing. The rugged cliffs and sandy beaches of the west coast of Pembrokeshire, along with those of Cardigan Bay, are within easy reach and provide opportunities for spotting dolphins and seals.

A great day out is St Davids in the morning, Solva for lunch and then Newgale beach in the afternoon watching the surfers (or joining in).

Alternatively, if you're not feeling energetic, you can just relax in the comfort and peaceful atmosphere of the cottage.
