This comfortable cottage has an enviable location amongst some of Lakeland’s most spectacular scenery in the charming friendly village of Chapel Stile in the heart of the Langdale Valley only 4 1/2 miles from Ambleside and 3 miles from Grasmere.The cottage faces due south and is an ideal base for touring, walking or climbing.

Much loved by its owner, Langdale View provides a real 'home from home' - an ideal place to relax after a long day out.

In detail, the cottage accommodation comprises:-

Lower Ground floor

• Entrance lobby where you can hang coats and leave boots.
• Bunk room [solid pine bunks] if required, to sleep up to 2 extra people.

Ground Floor

• Spacious lounge / diner with living flame electric fire, flat screen tv with integral dvd, basic sky, hi-fi, video player, comfy 3 piece suite, extensive information folder, radio/cassette player, dining table & chairs
• Kitchen: Local slate flooring, full size electric cooker, dishwasher, kettle, refrigerator, toaster, microwave, iron etc.

Upper Floor

• Spacious fully tiled bathroom: bath with electric shower over
• Twin bedroom: wonderful views, easy chair, hairdryer
• Charming boudoir double bedroom also has great views, and has a wrought-iron bed, drapes and cushions.

Outside

• Front : At the front of the cottage there is a porch with local slate flooring, where you can sit and take in the view or sit and soak up the sun outside when it’s hot. Sheep often come to nibble at the edge of the cottage garden!
• Back : entrance where you can safely park your cars. security light & unload under cover if wet.

Winter visitors will enjoy warm air central heating as well as an electric fire in the lounge.

Please note, we do not accept smokers or pets, and note that the open tread spiral staircase makes the cottage unsuitable for small children.

Chapel Stile is a small quaint village boasting the friendliest Co-op in England which sells delicious local produce and almost anything you could need. For excellent food Brambles Café and Wainwright’s pub are in the village.

The house is set quietly a little further up the valley. At least 2 other pubs which serve delicious food are a stroll away.

Nearby Ambleside has a huge variety of shops and restaurants. If you prefer to relax at home but don’t want to cook, Lucy’s will cater for you at home.

From the cottage, you can enjoy delightful valley walks, climb the Pikes, hike over to Grasmere, stroll along the river to Elterwater or Dungeon Ghjyll or take the local bus to other attractions.

By car avoid the busy centres and take the back roads to Coniston, Hawkshead and the ferry to Windermere; or for real wilderness the Wrynose and Hardknott passes are nearby and will lead you over the mountains to the little Eskdale railway and the sea!

A step away is the river and a tarn to paddle in. Or get a leisure pass for the Langdale Country Club at the other end of the village.
