About

Welcome to our Ski Blog! My name is Ian Locke, and I started Internet-Cottages.com about ten years ago, to enable people to find self-catering accommodation in the UK.
A year down the line, I was struggling to find a decent chalet to stay for a group ski trip, and so when I’d finally tracked down details of about 20 chalets, I thought it would make sense to put them on the Internet-Cottages site - our Ski Section was thus born!
As an avid skier myself, my purpose in writing this blog is to share the knowledge I’ve accumulated over the years of skiing most of the major French resorts, and hopefully to provide some useful advice on the practicalities such as choosing the best resort, finding the best way to get there etc.
Over the years, I’ve moved from being a ‘first lift / sandwich lunch / last off the slopes’ style of skier to one who takes things a bit more leisurely, so while still enjoying some hard skiing, also now manage to find the time to fit in a decent lunch, and maybe a vin chaud on the way down! With a ten-year-old daughter now in tow, I’m also firmly in the ‘family skiing’ category, although I am still allowed a couple of ‘boys’ trips most years.
I hope that you enjoy reading this blog, and that you will also choose to add comments on your own experiences.
