Understated luxury in Chamonix
I’ve always been a great fan of having a good bit of space to rattle around in while enjoying a skiing holiday, even if you’re not the largest group in the world, so we’re delighted to have this lovely chalet on board, as it fits the bill very nicely indeed!
First of all then, it’s got 4 bedrooms, all of them ensuite, and all of them bright, clean and spacious. You also won’t be short of space in the living areas either, with the option of the main living / dining room with a roaring log fire, massive French doors and windows, and stunning Mont Blanc views, or alternatively, the second living room / Games Room, with large flat screen TV, DVD and Wii.
The only decision really after a good day on the slopes, is whether to start off with a sauna and then relax in the outdoor hot tub, or do it the other way round, knowing that you’ve got a delicious 3-course dinner with wine to follow….

It seems that everyone nowadays is looking for a chalet with a hot tub, so time we thought to make your lives easier, with the introduction of our Chalet Hot Tub section, with over 20 ski chalets in France with hot tubs.

It is sometimes hard to put a finger on exactly why certain chalets appeal to you, and why others don’t, but this one certainly did jump out at me for some reason! Maybe it was the “perched on the hillside” setting, or maybe the wonderfully spacious living area with a cosy wood-burner hiding away in the corner…who knows, but in any case, we’re delighted to have it on board!!
So, Cairn Lodge is the name, central Morzine is the place, and we’re talking ensuite bedrooms, sauna, outdoor hot tub and fully catered service in a chalet sleeping up to 17 people.
The dining /sitting room is open plan and enjoys fantastic views over Morzine, with lots of comfy sofas centered around a wood burning stove and French patio doors opening onto the sun terrace and hot tub.
There is also a sauna/relaxation room with space for a massage table - so no need to travel for that massage after skiing. Heated boot racks ensure toasty toes in the mornings and there are racks for boards and skis.
Food is a very important part of your chalet holiday, so a great deal of pride and pleasure is taken in serving you a great selection of culinary delights. Breakfast, usually served between 8am and 9.30am, consists of a daily cooked special, complemented by a buffet spread, including fruit juice, a selection of cereals, yogurts, fresh fruit, croissants and freshly baked bread. Afternoon tea will be laid out for you to help yourselves to in the afternoon. Freshly baked cake, bread and jam, tea and coffee or if you prefer a beer or soft drink from the honesty bar. Appetizing canapes and a glass of Kir Royale & dinner will be served daily around 8pm. Three courses are served every night, accompanied by good quality house wines. Dinner is followed by a local cheese board and tea or coffee.
Prices range from €595 to €895 / person / week for catered chalet holidays of up to 17 people.

As a bit of a fan of Samoens and The Grand Massif, I’m delighted to announce the arrival of this privately run catered chalet to our collection of Samoens accommodation!
Chalet Marie Stuart is in a superb location - situated mid-way between the main Grand Massif Express and the smaller lift at Vercland, which, as insiders know, doesn’t get the queues, and also delivers you higher up the slopes.

Well, there was a time when the words “luxury apartment” and “Bulgaria” wouldn’t be seen in the same sentence, but things it would seem have moved on!!
Bansko itself has received a huge amount of investment in ski lifts etc over the last few years, and we’re happy to say that the quality of accommodation on offer has also improved markedly. This luxury one bedroom, self catering apartment is ideally located between the gondola base station and the town centre. Fully furnished and offering accommodation for up to five people, it has a double bed in the bedroom, and both a double and single sofa bed in the living room.
Included within the rental price you also have unlimited use of the hot tub, sauna and fitness gym. Also, the apartment complex provides a bar and restaurant, room service, massage, and an internet club; all available without leaving the building.
And if you’re unsure about finding your way around, and need someone to point you in the direction of the nearest mehana or the local shops, the reception is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the main ski season, so there will always be someone there to help.
