Trevoyan farm is ideally located just half a mile inland from the sea, between St Merryn Porthcothan Bay and Treyarnon Bay. Trevoyan now comprises the main residence where the owners live, Wreckers Cottage and the barn conversion of which our other cottage Swallows (sleeps 2) is part, all standing in some 5 acres surrounded by open farmland and just a mile inland from the coast. |

Whilst not a working farm, Trevoyan is run as a small holding so there will be small animals and farm vehicles on the premises. There is a pond at the farm, and whilst not in the garden of Wreckers it is adjacent and could be a hazard to small children. St.Merryn is a thriving small village which boasts two pubs, three restaurants, two convenience stores, a fish and chip shop and bakers. Trevoyan is just 5 minutes drive from several stunning beaches including Porthcothan, Harlyn, Constantine, Treyarnon and Trevone, and is less than a couple of miles from the Championship Golf course at Trevose. The picturesque harbour town of Padstow is just a 10 minute drive away. Public footpaths can be reached from the boundary of the property, making it an ideal base for walkers. |

Wreckers Cottage |
Wreckers Cottage, which sleeps 4-6, dates back to medieval times and has a lot of character - double height ceiling in the living room, mellow stone walls, Cornish slate floors, exposed beams and one of the deepest open fireplaces you are likely to see. Refurbished in 2009 by an interior designer, Wreckers is decorated and furnished throughout with real style. The property comprises: Downstairs: A good size living/dining room with its unique feature fire place (open fire) and smoke chamber, small platform with its own window looking seaward. (Originally this platform was used as a bed by the children of the house so they could keep warm next to the chimney. Happily this is no longer necessary as the house has full central heating throughout). There are two large comfy sofas, coffee table, flatscreen TV with Freeview and DVD player. The dining area has a table and chairs for eight. The kitchen is well laid out and fully equipped with an electric hob, electric oven, fridge, freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher and microwave.
Upstairs Stairs lead from the living room to three bedrooms - a double room with a King size bed and second TV, a twin room and a bunk room.
There are two bathrooms, one on the ground floor with bath, shower over, WC and basin and one upstairs (ensuite to the second, twin bedroom) with a bath, wc and basin. And the little extras:
A travel
cot and highchair can be provided on request. Outside Wreckers has a SW facing garden, and a sheltered patio with table and six chairs, parking for two cars and views across open countryside all around.
Wreckers Cottage is attached, at one corner, to the main residence of Trevoyan where the owners live. Also on the premises is Swallows which sleeps 2 adults in one bedroom (click here for Swallows cottage details). Wreckers Cotttage and Swallows can be booked separately or together to accommodate up to 8 people, ideal if you are thinking of bringing Grandparents on holiday who would like their own living space. |
