Within easy reach of the Heritage Coast, Stable Cottage is an ideal base for both the family holiday or for those wishing to explore the peace and tranquility of the Suffolk countryside and Heritage Coast. Close to several RSPB bird reserves, it is also only a few miles from the arts and music centres of Snape and Aldeburgh. Southwold and Walberswick are also within easy reach. |

| The Area | Saxmundham is a small former market town with most amenities including Chinese and Indian takeaways/restaurants, a large Somerfield supermarket, iron mongers, opticians, newsagents etc, all within 5 minutes walking distance. Saxmundham has a train station with links through Ipswich to London and Norwich. The station is 4 minutes walk from the Cottage. However, we are on the edge of Saxmundham, in a rural setting amongst fields and the cottage looks over a small farm with cattle. So a good mix of urban facilities in a country environment. We are 7 miles from the sea, specifically the lovely town of Aldeburgh and about 20 minutes from the equally lovely Southwold, surrounded by fields, forests and beaches. In the cottage is a list of best pubs, beaches, local towns, things to see. Below is a list of the best restaurants to eat in, we recommend that you book well in advance and we will be happy to do this for you, no charge obviously. |

| Eating Out | This
is our view of what’s available, by no means extensive, but
all tried and tested, haven’t included pubs here, list in cottage
and all these are within 20 minutes drive:
The Lighthouse, High Street, Aldeburgh Good modern cooking, lots of fish and strong French influence, about £20-£25 per head. The Crown, High Street, Southwold Good modern cooking, owned by the Adnams brewery, about £20-£25 per head The Crown & Castle, Oxford Really good modern cooking, owned by Ruth Watson (author of Really Useful Cook Book), more sophisticated than most, about £35 per head. The Bell, High Street, Saxmundham Good French-influenced modern cooking, not great atmosphere, excellent value, Independent gave it 16/20, about £20-£25 per head, although lunch is a bargain at about £10. Harrisons, Saxmundham Good modern cooking, rather pricey, about £40 per head Satis House, Yoxford Fantastic Malaysian food, in lovely palladian house, about £25 per head |
