This pretty & compact 17th Century labourer’s cottage is tucked away in a quiet road on the edge of the charming un-spoilt Suffolk town of Halesworth. The town offers a colourful selection of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants based along its pedestrianised Thoroughfare.

Halesworth is the perfect location to explore the Heritage Suffolk coast with the famous coastal town of Southwold just six miles away with its spectacular promenade, sandy beaches and recently rebuilt pier and the home of the Adnams brewery. Local to the area is Aldeburgh, Snape, Walberswick, Dunwich, the Minsmere Bird reserve and access to the Norfolk Broads at Beccles.

The cottage has been lovingly renovated into a comfortable holiday retreat. The sitting room has exposed beams, open brick fireplace with gas effect coal fire, TV and DVD, and a sofa bed that can provide comfortable sleeping accommodation for one person. The bright fully equipped kitchen includes separate fridge and freezer, washing machine, microwave, gas hob and oven; a door leads into the conservatory, with folding dining table and chairs.

A turned staircase leads from the sitting room to a small dressing room (with space for a cot if required), with an Art Nouveau cast iron fireplace; off this is the cosy double bedroom. Both upstairs rooms have views over the marshes at the front of the house and views of the garden from the rear Velux windows. Outside is an enclosed courtyard with well stocked embankment garden and a cast iron table and chairs for eating out in the summer.

Squirrel Cottage is a charming cottage in the centre of a small terrace of three, situated on a private driveway, tucked away near the end of a quiet country lane, with off road parking and easy walking distance from the famous Snape Maltings.


The cottage is perfectly situated for exploring the Suffolk heritage coast on foot, cycle or by car with the beautiful seaside towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold only a short distance away. Snape is an area of outstanding natural beauty famous for its forest walks, salt marshes and wide estuaries. A 2 minute walk away from the cottage is several hectares of land which the RSPB purchased in 2008. They are currently in the process of returning the land to its natural state of marsh/wetland. Since this time there has been an increase in Marsh harriers, Bitterns and Barn Owls in the area.


The sitting/dining room is a cosy, comfortably furnished room with a wood-burning stove, Colour TV with Freeview, DVD, CD/cassette radio and dining table seating up to six. There is also a small reading room downstairs with a single futon which doubles as a third bedroom. The newly-fitted kitchen is well equipped with electric cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave and washing machine, and looks out on to a beautifully paved terraced garden. Upstairs is the bathroom together with two tastefully furnished bedrooms - one with a 4’6 bed, the other with a 4’ bed. Bed linen and towels are provided.


The cottage is south facing and therefore captures the sun rising in the east just in time for breakfast in the terraced back garden and similarly sets in the west in time for supper! Greater Spotted Woodpeckers, Goldfinches, Blue, Great and Long Tailed tits regularly feed from the two bird tables in the garden along with a wide variety of other birds.


Two cycles and a barbeque can be made available if required. A welcome basket is provided on arrival with fresh free-range eggs from our very own hens as well as some essentials to ensure you can make a hot drink and have a snack on arrival.

We regret no smoking and no pets (Assistance dogs welcome by prior arrangement).

Situated on the fringe of the village of Dunwich in woodland surroundings with abundant wildlife, the cottage is within walking distance of the village, the RSPB Minsmere Bird Sanctuary and in close proximity to the sea. There are many excellent and beautiful walks across heathland, woods and along the shore. Dunwich is an as-yet unspoilt Coastal Village with only a pub, The Ship, and Fish and Chip café in a scenic part of the Suffolk Coast. Surrounding towns and villages within easy reach include Walberswick, Aldburgh, Thorpness and Southwold. The nearest shop is in Westleton two miles away. The Bridge Nurseries closeby provide excellent meals.

Beautifully furnished and well-equipped, the cottage accommodation is all on the one level. A large entrance hall leads to the spacious beamed sitting room, with comfortable seating, feature fireplace (not used), colour TV and radio / CD / tape player (NB TV reception can be poor in difficult atmospheric conditions). The kitchen has fitted units and is well-equipped, including electric hob / oven, microwave, fridge / freezer and washing machine. The cottage has two bedrooms - a double ensuite with bath, and a twin with walk-in shower; there is also an additional separate wc. Outside is a secluded garden with sheltered patio and ample off road parking. Heating is provided by central heating and electric radiators; heating and linen are included in the rental. Please note: we're sorry, but we do not accept pets or children.

Situated in a secluded wooded setting in rural Suffolk just a few miles from the glorious Heritage coastline, these four beautifully-furnished cottages are designed for comfort and relaxation. Inside, each comes with stripped floors, original art and Persian rugs; outdoors, each cottage has a raised decking area for eating, drinking and barbecuing. The cottages are set in the peaceful grounds of the owners' 35 acre farm and are reached down a private tree-lined drive. Guests can enjoy a 36-foot indoor swimming pool which is heated all year round and open from 9am to 8pm; private swimming sessions are available by request.

The cottages sleep up to 4 adults (plus baby). Each features a spacious living room, country-style kitchen, and two bedrooms with either single or en suite bathrooms, with both baths and showers. Modern facilities include dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, DVD, colour TV, stereo, cot and high chair. Pets are welcome by arrangement, but please note, there is no smoking in the cottages.

The grounds of the farm are fully accessible for rambling and nature watching, with wide wild natural field margins. In addition, the traditional market towns of Halesworth and Bungay are 5 miles away whilst Beccles, gateway to the southern Norfolk Broads and offering boat hire, lies 7 miles away. To the East, Southwold's elegant seaside delights are a step back to a more elegant time and reflect the unchanged nature of this friendly part of Suffolk.

Children's soft play centre (Moo Play Farm) also on site but completely separate and away from the cottages, available for guests use and discount available.

Hacheston is a pretty rural village between Woodbridge and Framlingham, well located for exploring Suffolk’s beautiful countryside and coastline. It has a village store, garden nursery with a very good farm shop and an eleventh century village church. Wickham Market, with its more extensive shops, restaurants and pubs is only two minutes drive away. On the coast, Orford, Snape, with the famous Snape Maltings concert hall, Aldeburgh, Thorpeness and Dunwich are within easy reach. Minsmere’s nature reserve, Walberswick and Southwold are also readily accessible.

Lodge Cottage is a charming, thatched, weatherboarded colonial style building, situated in the grounds of Hacheston Lodge. It offers comfortable accommodation for 5/6 people, with bedrooms at ground and basement level, with the living space above. It has a very large living area with its sofas, TV, video and DVD, portable hi-fi and good sized dining table and chairs, with glazed doors leading to the galley kitchen with fridge, separate freezer, electric double oven and halogen ring, dishwasher and microwave. South-west facing glazed double doors lead to the sunny balcony with wrought iron table and chairs, overlooking the private patio, also with wrought iron furniture. There are three bedrooms; a double with wall mounted TV, a twin and a single bedroom with another full sized single bed that can be pulled out and used for a 6th person.

Visitors have exclusive use of a huge grassed garden beyond their private parking area, where cricket, rounders etc can be played as well as access to the acres of paddocks within Hacheston Lodge grounds. The heated pool is open from May to September inclusive.

Toad Hall is a spacious Grade II listed timber framed house, complete with Inglenook fireplace and a wealth of exposed timbers in its interior. Set in two acres of garden in the beautiful Suffolk countryside, it is within two hours drive from London, near the Heritage Coast and the ancient town of Woodbridge on the River Deben with its restaurants, pubs and antique shops. Horse riding is just along the lane and golf, fishing, sailing etc. are a short drive away.

The house has two sitting rooms, one with TV, video, sound system and log burning stove, a games room, and a large well-equipped farmhouse style kitchen with double oven, microwave, dishwasher and walk in larder with freezer; a utility room houses a washing machine, drier and a large overflow fridge. There are six bedrooms (2 double, 2 twin and 2 singles) and two bathrooms, one of which is en-suite, with walk-in shower; there is also a downstairs WC and entrance boot room. The house is centrally heated throughout and sleeps 10 people comfortably.
