The Cottage

Lodge Cottage is a charming, thatched, weatherboarded colonial style building, situated in the grounds of Hacheston Lodge - superbly situated as the base from which to explore Suffolk’s beautiful Heritage Coast.

Or, if you would prefer a peaceful time at home, then relax in the spacious garden of Lodge Cottage and explore the grounds of Hacheston Lodge. There are tables, chairs and sun loungers for guests to use, a brick BBQ, a table tennis table and a large outdoor heated swimming pool for the youngsters or more energetic adults, which is open all Summer long.

The cottage offers comfortable accommodation for 5/6 people, with bedrooms at ground and basement level, with the living space above.

The entrance utility area has a washing machine, tumble dryer, storage cupboards and space for wellies/coats and dogs. Up a small flight of stairs is the galley kitchen, which has a fridge and separate freezer, an electric cooker with double oven and halogen ring, dishwasher and microwave. Beyond is a shower room with a corner cubicle, basin and wc.

From the kitchen, glazed double doors lead to the very large living area with its sofas, TV, video and DVD, portable hi-fi, library and good sized dining table and chairs. A further set of south-west facing glazed double doors lead to the sunny balcony with wrought iron table and chairs, which overlooks the private patio, also with wrought iron furniture. Steps lead down from the balcony to the patio and garden.

A flight of stairs descends from one corner of the living room to the downstairs hall. There is a bathroom with hand held shower, washbasin, WC, bidet and shaver socket. There are three bedrooms off the hall; a double with a wall mounted TV, a twin bedded room and a single bedroom with another full sized single bed that can be pulled out and used for a 6th person. A cot and high chair are provided on request, but please bring your own cot linen.

In addition to the patio and balcony, visitors have exclusive use of a huge grassed garden beyond their private parking area, where cricket, rounders etc can be played as well as access to the acres of paddocks within Hacheston Lodge grounds.

The heated pool is open from May to September inclusive and visitors can enjoy the adjacent public footpaths and bridleways anytime.

There is full gas fired central heating throughout Lodge cottage. Duvets, linen, pillows and towels are provided – but please remember to bring your own swimming towels. To make guests feel at home as soon as they arrive, there is a surprise welcome package!

Two well behaved, clean and trained dogs are welcome – the grounds and gardens make Lodge Cottage an ideal location for dog owners - but owners are asked to make sure their dogs do not wander in the pool area or, of course, sit on cottage furniture.

Children are most welcome, but please remember about the pool and accompany youngsters at all times.

There is a no smoking policy inside the cottage, but feel free to smoke in the garden.

Please note that check in and out times are 3pm and 10pm.
