Located in the quiet, unspoilt village of Oakridge Lynch, between Stroud and Cirencester, in the Five Valleys region of the South Cotswolds, this cottage was once part of a silk mill, set in a pretty walled garden. The immediate area is great for walking, touring, or simply relaxing, with an excellent pub within walking distance. It is also very convenient for touring the Cotswolds and west of England generally, and close to racing, point to point, antiques centres, water sports, golf and riding.
The cottage has been stylishly decorated with a mixture of antiques and contemporary furnishings, which enhance all the original features such as exposed beams, log fires etc. It is however also equipped with all the modern luxuries - central heating, power showers, state-of-the-art kitchen etc. On the ground floor the accommodation comprises two sitting rooms, one with log fire, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, cloakroom / utility room with loo, basin, washing machine, tumble dryer, and pantry with extra fridge and freezer. Also on the ground floor is a study / single bedroom, to accommodate an extra person if required. Upstairs there are 4 double bedrooms - 3 with ensuite bathrooms, each having bath, power shower, loo and basin; the further family bathroom has bath, power shower, loo and basin. Outside, the pretty walled garden includes a natural stream and pond as well as 2 patios and a small orchard; patio furniture and BBQ are provided.

In the heart of an unspoilt village that is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Old Mill is a wonderful place for a relaxing break away. All the normal country pursuits are on the doorstep with great walking just outside the door; a proper local pub that offers fabulous food and plenty going on the the local towns. An easy journey from London along the M4 and from the South West and North West, Oakridge is a good gathering point for groups of friends and family who want to get together. Our guests seem to enjoy the house so much that they don't sightsee much but, if you want to use Oakridge as a base, the rest of the Cotswolds and the South West are within a comfortable drive.
Oakridge is equidistant from two important towns - Cirencester and Stroud - and only 8 miles from Cheltenham so well placed to enjoy the full spectrum of all the Cotswolds has to offer. Stroud is renowned as a 'green' town with an arty, hippy feel. It was one of the first places to have a Green MP and was the first town to hold a farmers market, encouraging local producers and reducing food miles. The Stroud Farmers Market continues to offer a superb selection of the best that growers in the area can offer. Cirencester has a wonderful church, plenty of shopping and some decent places to eat. Cheltenham, Queen of the Cotswolds, is world famous for its racecourse which hosts the renowned Gold Cup every March. It was recently voted 'the nicest place in England to live' and has a great selection of restaurants, bars, clubs to enjoy. The architecture is splendid and the museum often has cutting edge exhibitions on display. It is also home to popular festivals of classical music, jazz, science and literature.
