Christchurch House is a spacious, comfortable, Edwardian villa in one of the best parts of Cheltenham, away from the noise of the middle of town but within a 12 minute stroll or a quick cab ride.
The detached house offers eclectic and stylish accommodation with hotel quality fittings in its numerous bathrooms. All but one of the 6 bedrooms has an ensuite. The remaining bedroom has a dedicated bathroom across the landing.
The rooms are generous in size and wonderfully light. The house faces south onto a large garden that is private and not overlooked so that, in summer, when the trees are in leaf, it is almost as thought you are in the countryside. In winter, gather around the giant log burner and cosy up to hat with friends, play games or watch Sky or Netflix on the large flat screen TV. The sitting room measure over 5 metres long by 4 metres wide and has lots of comfy seating for you to relax into.
If you like to cook, you will love the layout and content of the kitchen. There are 3 dishwashers, 2 ovens, a water dispenser that serves filtered chilled or boiling water, 2 massive fridges and plenty of pots, pans, utensils and cookware to cope with large groups. For those who find the task of mass catering a bit daunting, we can organise a chef to do it for you.
We also have a granny flat adjacent, completely self contained, which can be taken, by arrangement, to accommodate another 4 people.
The Area: Cheltenham, Cotswolds
Cheltenham is called the Queen of the Cotswolds and was voted recently one of the nicest places in the UK to live.
There is a lot to do that will appeal to everyone. The town is well known for its racecourse and the annual Gold Cup meeting in March. This brings tens of thousands of spectators into the town and has its own special atmosphere. There are other, less busy, race meets during the year which are just as much fun but less crowded. Additionally, Cheltenham is famous for its Literature Festival in October but did you know that there are similar events dedicated to Science, Classical Music, Jazz and now Food and Wine?
It is a compact town, easy to get around on foot. Strolling through the streets enables you to take in the spectacular Regency architecture that abounds. An impressive variety of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes, coupled the intellectual and sporting pastimes make this a town that will suit all tastes.
