This
charming traditional flint cottage is tucked away on the south side
of the town. Only 10 minutes walk to centre it has the benefit of
easy parking. The centre of Holt is renowned for its shops, pubs
and restaurant. You can take the ‘Holt Flyer’, the Routemaster double-decker
bus that carries you to the station to catch the steam train across
the heath and coast to Sheringham. Alternatively, take a boat trip
to see the seals at Blakeney. Don’t forget to buy some mussels or
crab for your tea! The North Norfolk Coast is the largest coastal
nature reserve in England and Wales and Cley-Next-The-Sea is famous
for its bird reserve where rarities such as Bittern, Marsh Harrier,
and Avocet visit and breed. The Holt Country Park is only 100 metres
from the cottage and makes a marvellous evening walk in the summer.

The
Cottage |
Jim’s
Cottage in Holt, North Norfolk, was built around 1850 to house
workers for a small Gravel Pit that is long abandoned. Today
it is a cosy, light little cottage with bags of character. With
its gas central heating and open fire [logs provided] it is
excellent for a winter or summer holiday. Weekends can be booked
between October and May for a short break.
The internal doors are the original pine and
have been stripped. The floors throughout are rustic oak effect
laminate.
The excellent, safe garden makes it an ideal
cottage for families. Smokers and children are welcome but
sorry no pets.
